Hello all! My wife just got TWO parking tickets in Hamilton during a 12 hour shift. She misread the poorly worded sign and the tickets are warranted... however... her car is registered in Michigan. From what I have read, they can't chase down out of province/country vehicles for parking tickets. So I'm thinking of just leaving them. My concern is even though her car is registered in Michigan, we plan on importing it sometime in the next few months (when time and money allows, it's quite a process!) Does anyone know if we'd have an issue if there are unpaid parking tickets on it or even if it's possible for them to know?? Many thanks!

At this time, I'm not aware of any reciprocal agreement for parking tickets involving out of Province plates. The City obtains owner information from the MTO, which can only provide it for Ontario plates. In short, it shouldn't effect your ability to register the vehicle, nor should there be any record linked to it regarding parking fines. The only caveat is that the City is still looking into reciprocal agreements with other Provinces and States because of the huge revenue they're losing. Reciprocal agreements have been in place in the past, and should they come into force again they could feasibly get your information and send it to a collection agency.

Thank you for the responses, folks. We do cross the border often, but it sounds like we should be okay... I'm still not entirely sure what I'll do. $52 for peace of mind? I don't know. What a pain in the ass though. Couldn't believe they ticketed her twice in the same day too.

I was involved in a collision a while ago. I was doing a left turn/u-turn in an intersection at the same time as someone else was doing a right-turn on the crossing road. There was no "no-u-turn" sign. My light was green and his was red. We basically converged in the center lane. There wasn't any…

I'm considering buying a strap-on motor for a bicycle for this summer, such as the one at www.motorizedbicycle.ca/bicyâ¦ant-head-bike-motor-kit.html . However, I haven't been able to find any clear answers about what part of the law, if any, they fall under. The kit in question has a motor with a…
So Again, I really don't know how I'm attracting attention to myself, but I am.
Saturday at 1:30 in the morning I was pulled over on the 400 for 142 in a posted 100 Zone. Honestly, I know I was speeding, but I thought maybe 110-120 (I'm trying to clean up my act.) Anyways, Pulled over, Ticketed,…
Sorry if i may be posting in the wrong thread my questions are as follows;
1. Are Highway Traffic Act Matters Kept Public? Say if someone did an Appeal would that appeal be kept as public record accessible to anyone who may need it for reference?
