Re: 81km/h in 50km/h zone
Not sure that would work. No sign = 50 km/h in Mississauga.

Re: freedom to travel
There have been court decisions that deemed driving to be a "near right" - that is, you are entitled to use public highways subject to legislation passed in the interest of public safety (this includes the licensing system). As far as I'm aware, none of those decisions have come from the Supreme Court of Canada and several recent case law I have ...

If this is your first ticket (and it's a minor one), your insurance should not increase.

Re: Mayfield Rd, Caledon Disobey sign
:D Thanks guys. There was a family health emergency that I had to go help with, then I got pretty busy with Habitat for Humanity and the OPP volunteer work. I ended up on Habitat core crew, working six days a week for them. We also started up a little graffiti project with the city police board where I'm programming a database and mapping program ...

Does the province even send unpaid fines to a collection agency? I would have thought they'd just suspend your licence and wait for you to find them.

Re: Mayfield Rd, Caledon Disobey sign
A Road Occupancy Permit seems to be a municipal by-law requirement, not provincial. My first search turned up Richmond Hill's requirements. Putting in Caledon got me this:

Re: 2nd Disclosure-5th request-still missing info-what to do?
Where is that congestion from? That may be why the sign is there. If Shaw is becoming congested between 7-9 AM, southbound traffic approaching Dundas essenially only has a single lane; while right-turning vehicles can squeeze past, a car waiting to proceed straight onto Shaw would have to wait there (don't block the box!) and block both straight ...

Do some cities allow disabled permit holders to park in fire routes, or are you referring to parking tickets in general?hwybear wrote:Those spots are for those medically who can not walk great distances OR fire departments to save a life!

Ouch, I didn't know your hit-and-run was recent. Was this the one on the front bumper?

Re: No right turn on red except on green arrow
It is covered by HTA 144(14), "Every driver approaching a traffic control signal showing one or more green arrow indications only or in combination with a circular red or circular amber indication and facing the indication may proceed only to follow the direction shown by the arrow. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 144 (14)."

Re: Service Center Negligence? Section 88-100
You should NEVER have more traction in the front than the rear, regardless of where your drive wheels are. Of course, the best solution will be to get four winter tires for the season, then four new, matched tires to replace the worn out summers (all-seasons do not exist in Canada).
??? 80% of the braking and 100% of the steering comes from ...

Re: Pulling cars out of the ditch
Same here (not the tow truck driving, but the simple pulls). No unibodies and no all-season tires. Hard to hook up properly to a unibody as I do not carry that J/T/R-hook cluster, and the all-season guys are on their own as far as I'm concerned. Normally I only hook up if there is a clearly accessible attachment point. Only time I might consider ...
