Re: Rules to over take street car?
I tend to stop behind the doors whenever a streetcar is close to a streetcar stop. If the doors are already open or if it is clearly stopped for passengers, then I stop before the rear of the streetcar. I'm not sure what the interpretation of the law is for your particular situation, but profanity is uncalled-for. If something similar happens in ...

Re: What should we do on the first apperance?
Thank you for the great tip. If the insurance company cancels her insurance, can I at that point provide such an exclusion clause to keep my insurance only (or instead I should act before that happens)?
Thanks!

Re: Woot Woot - It's Back - 2011 Chev Caprice
It looks like the Caprice will now be based on the Holden Statesman instead of the G8/Commodore. The Statesman is pretty close in size to the old Caprice and has monster rear legroom. I hear it is supposed to look like a bigger Impala, which isn't bad but somehow doesn't have the presence of a Crown Vic.

Re: What should we do on the first apperance?
7. She is the second driver in our insurance right now. If she is found guilty, can I remove her from our insurance to avoid it being canceled or big raise by the insurance company? (of course she couldn't drive for at least 2 years then.) But my friend said it may not be an option because the insurance company must insure every family member. I ...

Schedules 1 and 2 are what most cars fall under.
Check under your front seats for any electrical connectors. If you find any, disconnect them and then reconnect them firmly.

Re: Failed to Yield when turning right on red
Is there any other way to word the charge on the ticket for that section? POA Reg. 950 only lists the 'fail to yield' wording. An alternative is 'red light - fail to stop' but I think 144 (19) also fits, despite the wording on the ticket.

BTW no car comes with factory tinted windows. If your side windows are tinted you can be pulled over anytime, regardless of how dark the tint is.
My car has factory tinted windows. It's not a film and cannot be removed.
You can be pulled over any time, regardless of anything . The police may pull over anyone driving or seen driving on a public ...

Re: What You Should Do if Pulled Over By a Police Officer
do not place your stuff out in the open
Why is that?
This topic recently came up with a friend of mine. The procedure I came up for her was:
1: Car in Park, foot off brake
2: Both windows down, rears also if tinted or have more than 1 rear passenger
3: Keys on dash, interior lights on
4: Tell passengers not to talk to each other and to keep ...

Re: Ontario Demerit Points System and What it means for you
Alright, let me try again with the definition. When you speak of "directly affecting" something, you are speaking of relationships. A direct relationship takes one step. Any more than one step and you have an indirect relationship.
Step 1: Oh no, 15 demerit points.
Step 2: License suspended.
Step 3 : Insurance company raises your rates.

Re: Ontario Demerit Points System and What it means for you
Have you read the above??
That's still indirect. Demerit points > suspension > insurance increase. The suspension directly affects your insurance rate. Same with the severity of the conviction, in an even more convoluted way. The severity of the conviction directly affects both demerit points and your insurance rates. If you drew a tree ...

Re: Ontario Demerit Points System and What it means for you
Yes, it is REALLY indirect by the very definition of the word.
If I got a traffic ticket, I would not bother playing with the points as they do not DIRECTLY affect my rates. I would play with pleading to other charges based on whether they were classified as minor or major convictions, or had no affect on my insurance like many municipal ...

Re: Ontario Demerit Points System and What it means for you
Well here's a scenario: you are charged with a prohibited turn, 2 points. Counts as a minor conviction on your insurance record. You have a bulletproof case showing that at the time the offence occured (and ticket was issued), turns were in fact not prohibited (maybe you even have a dashcam in your car like Bookm's Lincoln and there happens to be a ...
