Re: Wrong Date and 40 over

I'd wait for another week and file the ticket with option 3. Then wait for the response.... then go from there. Like 'Bear said sometime you win, sometimes you still have to goto court.

Re: Electronic Device Legislation

The law "prescribes" so much I think a doctor wrote it.

'Bear, if I have an Ipod and my car has a AUX line-in but I have to press the thumb wheel on the Ipod to change songs, does this count as a "hand-held entertainment" device?

Re: MPP (PC Leader Candidate) wants speed limit Increased

Truthfully I'd expect speeds on the Trans-Canada to go to maybe around the 130 mark with no official speed limit. Approaching cities, put in progressively lowering speed limits and make sure people slow down with enforcement.
It makes sense, the Gov't won't go for it. But, I agree with you.

Re: MPP (PC Leader Candidate) wants speed limit Increased

Bear has already stated that he'll give 20 over before he pulls in a customer...so don't we already have 120, at least in his area???

Re: Time and place

If I understand you correctly, the officer in the plane maintains visual contact with my car and voice contact with the ground officer from the time of the violation until the stop is made?

If so, then I would have been clocked somewhere close to the place that they stopped me. That raises an interesting question -- since I believe that the hash ...

Re: Failure to surrender insurance

Officers can pull you over just to check and see if you have all the required documentation, I don't know why they don't just say that. Back in my youthful days I had an officer pull me over in a "Mobile RIDE" check..... whatever.....blah, blah. He was OK just saying hello, nudge, nudge.

Re: Police Notes

Even if notes are not clear, Bookm said it best: If an officer plans to use his notes, defence has the right to see what information is in the notes.

I completely understand that. But the notes are to refresh my memory, so I could have more than what's in my notes stored in my "pea" brain.

But, if the question is who remembers best ...

However, nobody is going to stop him from doing this again, law or no law.

Could always get jail time for driving under suspension. Last person I saw got 45days, served on weekends.

And throughout the week he was......doing........?

Tell you what how's about putting biometric scanners in cars, fingerprints work just fine. We got them on all ...

Re: Failure to surrender insurance

Sorry for my noobness, what does the acronyms PON and JP stand for?

Also, when the officer pulled me over he said it was because when he punched in my license plate it matched a suspected driver who's license has been expired. Is this legit???? I thought if they punched in my license plate on their terminal it would tell them that information ...

Re: MPP (PC Leader Candidate) wants speed limit Increased

Only way I will vote for him is IF photo radar is back.

Will drivers abide by 110km? or do the usual I can get away with 20over and now drive 130? or will they remain at 119ish?

I know the local council here raised some rural roads from 80km - 90km this spring. However the local police have taken a zero tolerance policy in these areas. I travel ...
