I'd wait for another week and file the ticket with option 3. Then wait for the response.... then go from there. Like 'Bear said sometime you win, sometimes you still have to goto court.

Re: MPP (PC Leader Candidate) wants speed limit Increased

Truthfully I'd expect speeds on the Trans-Canada to go to maybe around the 130 mark with no official speed limit. Approaching cities, put in progressively lowering speed limits and make sure people slow down with enforcement.
It makes sense, the Gov't won't go for it. But, I agree with you.

Re: Time and place

If I understand you correctly, the officer in the plane maintains visual contact with my car and voice contact with the ground officer from the time of the violation until the stop is made?

If so, then I would have been clocked somewhere close to the place that they stopped me. That raises an interesting question -- since I believe that the hash ...

Re: Failure to surrender insurance

Officers can pull you over just to check and see if you have all the required documentation, I don't know why they don't just say that. Back in my youthful days I had an officer pull me over in a "Mobile RIDE" check..... whatever.....blah, blah. He was OK just saying hello, nudge, nudge.

Re: Police Notes

Even if notes are not clear, Bookm said it best: If an officer plans to use his notes, defence has the right to see what information is in the notes.

I completely understand that. But the notes are to refresh my memory, so I could have more than what's in my notes stored in my "pea" brain.

But, if the question is who remembers best ...

Sorry for my noobness, what does the acronyms PON and JP stand for?

Only way I will vote for him is IF photo radar is back.

Will drivers abide by 110km? or do the usual I can get away with 20over and now drive 130? or will they remain at 119ish?

I know the local council here raised some rural roads from 80km - 90km this spring. However the local police have taken a zero tolerance policy in these areas. I travel ...

Minimum!! Max of $10K and this guy deserves it. The law was created for dumb-dumb's like this and here it does apply. However, nobody is going to stop him from doing this again, law or no law.

Re: Last minute Disclosure delivery

Just to be clear, the officer said he would present the disclosure "just before trial", not in advance. I read a response by Radar ID (elsewhere on this forum, in a similar scenario) that perhaps he should refuse to accept the last minute disclosure package and apply to the court for a stay instead.

'Bear wrote that the request for disclosure ...

Re: Police Notes

Curious from someone else point...what is the big deal BS about police notes and whether they are legible to someone else or not?

Notes are not the end all be all, notes are made to merely refresh my own personal memory of the incident and nothing more.

OR if my notes are legible but all in code that I know...again is to refresh my memory not ...

Re: Last minute Disclosure delivery

No harm in asking for a stay but I think the continuance will be awarded. If the continuance stretches out to the magic 9 month plus mark, then file form 4F could be filed out and the stay awarded anyway. If I were the JP I would dismiss the charges based on these tactics. It's not like Joe Public gets a ticket everyday, but the courts deal with ...

Now if I don't decide to go to the option 4 "prosecutor" do all 3 officers have to show up or do they not have to show up as there is no check box under the witness box.

There will only be 2 officers at most. The one running the gun and the one that pulled you over. Both have to show up to prove your guilt. Go chat and see whats on the table. If ...

There is also that group of drivers who think the left lane is the 'passing lane', the centre lane is the 'travel lane', and the right lane is the 'merge lane'.

Re: Yes you can!

Yes you can represent someone or attend on their behalf (sorry R & RI). The only issue is whether you will go "on record" as representing them. What that means is you state your name and say that you are representing your friend. If you don't want to go on record, it becomes a little tricky.

I cover this in detail in Step 2 of my site ("Change ...
