Not to pick on you guys, but especially around here during the week you don't see the officers that much. I am guessing alot are in court. But on sunday oh man youll see tons.
That's true everywhere in the GTA. Sunday is the "traffic enforcement day of the week." There are sporadic speed traps here and there on weekdays but they are not run as ...

Re: 401 - Chatham
Actually, NO ONE does traffic enforcement like the Ohio State Police. (Actually I guess it's the Ohio State Highway Patrol or something like that.) They ticket for as little as 2 MPH over the limit. They use aerial surveillance way more than the OPP. They go out in marked and unmarked cruisers and drive 1 MPH over the posted speed limit. Anyone who ...

gt0ro, did you happen to get the clerk's name? You could also try registered mail but I don't see any difference here between that and what ticketcombat suggested. If they continue to insist on additional details from you, well, that's not your problem and it's setting you up for an easy ...

Re: Passing Off Roadway
For now, here's the generic advice. At least if you prepare to fight the ticket in court, you've got more options available to you. Send in the ticket pleading not guilty, request a trial, and make a disclosure request. By the way, how long did it take for the officer to catch you? Did you note him turning around in your rear-view mirror or did he ...

Re: 117 in a 90
Why not start by charging normal rates -- then raise rates according to the driver's record?
Short answer: Because that would cost them $$$ in profits, as golfer0012 was saying.
The insurance companies try to predict how much money they'll have to pay out in claims per driver. They look at how much money, on average, driver "X" will cost them ...

That's great. Keeps your record clean and prevents an insurance increase. :)
And knowing R.I i assume his Civic would be Black?
Grey.
Ha i just though of a great license plate name to!

And of course, there's our ongoing discussion about whether any of these "modern" devices are even being tested and used properly.

Oh ya that 07 civic with the pilot from Michigan.
Fortunately my driver record doesn't show that I lived in Michigan for two years. :D They also don't have access to Transport Canada's database, fortunately. However... the FAA's (US Federal Aviation Administration) has a public database... hmm... and I have both licenses...

Re: Motorcycle Groups and Right of Way
It's pretty common here in Chile
You're in Chile? Nice. :D
For example, I did not know what Squids were.
My bad. Sorry about that. Should've explained somewhere in my original post.
Actually the Toronto Police indicated that they're concerned about "lane splitting" in this report last year on City TV:

If he is found guilty, couldn't the victims of his falsified evidence sue the government or police force for compensation??
I'm going to say yes. They could sue for malicious prosecution. I think the Sergeant himself would probably be on the hook for some of it. Stay tuned, I guess. I know if I had my car seized under those circumstances I ...

Dang it, I'll have to train my dog to sniff those things out now. I guess that also explains why that car with the licence plate "IMPOUND U" has been following me all day...Reflections wrote:That's because they're in the trees and have already attached a GPS device to your car..

Re: 144(18) - proceed before green - bicycle
Just be careful about it - in Toronto they've mistakenly been applying demerit points from bicycle offences to driver licences. Don't let them do it! If they do, call MTO and get it fixed. So yes, Plenderzoosh is right.

Re: What's the proper procedure to pass a car on a 2 lane road?
All I'm asking for is advice on what I should do.
In cases where people pass a police cruiser, marked or unmarked, it usually is difficult to get it beaten in court. If the officer ticketed you for 102 in an 80 zone (I'm assuming that's what you did), you could try to plea-bargain to 95 in save demerit points and a little bit of cash.
