Re: When does Dashcam Footage enter court?

I believe, but am not positive, that it will need to be admitted to court and the crown will need to be given a chance to review the video as its disclosure. The crown will certainly have the opportunity to question the video. Curious, what do you hope to gain by dashcam video for a speeding ticket ?

Currently I have the front plate on my dashboard, so I would like to see where in the HTA shows that it has to be installed on the front bumper. Thanks. Ontario Reg. 628 9. (3) The number plates for a motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle or a motor assisted bicycle, shall be attached to and expos...

Re: 136km/h in a 100km/hr, possible win?

It's not uncommon to carry both devices. One is vehicle mounted and used while driving. The other is handheld and therefore used when parked. Very common actually to carry both lidar/radar especially if your job is traffic enforcement. If you have the disclosure perhaps post it on here we may be ab...

Re: "29" over

Well, that's what you get for pacing 150m behind an OPP SUV. They travel in packs apparently. Guess I'll just pay the fine :) TicketDefenders quoted me 350, which would pretty much just be $500 all said and done. I don't see how they could possibly get me off. How long does the Officer have to inpu...

Re: Non-police forbidden from speeding (On Duty)

MTO Enforcement doesn't conduct speed enforcement , the lasers you speak of are intended for use to determine if a commercial vehicle required to use a speed limiting device is indeed using the device. They make take the measurement then waive the vehicle over down the highway no need to close any g...

Your thoughts on this, I understand what this entails, I've just qualified for this I think it's like around 50bucks for the remainder of my year. Does the group think this is a good idea or a money grab ? Does the group have this option ? I get this included in my policy at no extra charge, I pers...

Re: What Can I say to the officer during a traffic stop

As others have said, be polite and hand over your licence and vehicle documents when asked, but watch your self to make sure you don't say anything incriminating. My goal during a traffic stop is to be as forgettable as possible so that come court time the cop doesn't remember anything about me exc...

Re: 121 km/h in a posted 80 km/h - Disclosure attached

The officer was approximately 300 meters away based on my calculations using beam width of .9m and lidar gun specs. What was volume of traffic? Obviously it was dark but was it raining ( I can't make out the RDS conditions)? Basically the officer is stating he is sure he wasn't off by 0.9m at a dis...

Re: Temp plates for a trailer? Help?

Interesting question... you only need to register a trailer once so I don't see why you could register it once and be done with it. I don't believe trailers need temp stickers as theres no safety inspection before registering the trailer. Also I believe what your describing is going to be a camper t...

The CVIR (commercial vehicle inspection report) is not always given on scene.

Lets not forget you don't have to be commercial certified to perform a test of the parking brake or simple braking system test.
