Re: Major Defect in comm. Veh. HTA 107 (11)

The CVIR (commercial vehicle inspection report) is not always given on scene.

Lets not forget you don't have to be commercial certified to perform a test of the parking brake or simple braking system test.

Re: Failure to properly wear seat belt and witness question.

I have to shake my head and wonder if you're for real, or maybe better yet you can give your own head a shake.

1) Your going to put your 7 year old on the stand as a witness ? Really ... put a child up as a witness for a seatbelt ticket. Thats just silly why anyone would put a child through that.

2) If the photo and video evidence wasn't taken ...

Re: Stunt Driving in Peel

Request disclosure , you won't know anything until you see the evidence against you.

As for the cop from another jurisdiction issuing a ticket that's not an issue as police officers can issue you a ticket anywhere in the province. Essentially a cop from kingston Ontario could still issue you a ticket in Mississauga . However you'd deal with it at ...

Re: Construction zone - no speed limit posted

Hello everyone,

Looking for some info on a ticket I got. I was driving in the Brockville area towards Toronto and I got caught doing 120 in a "posted 80 zone". The thing is I am positive there was no speed limit posted, other than the usual 100/hr. She told me I should have known to go 80 in the construction zone (is this true?), There were 3 of ...

I second that , and a photo line up is very unlikely for an HTA offence :)

Re: officer transcript says I was going 85,85,85km... an ang

Missing radar test times "before and after " is good but very vague ..tested before and after the stop ? .. 2 days before and 2 days after ? Could always try that angle that's really about it the notes seem to be well done aside from that. Are there any other copies of notebook entries for test times ?

Re: G2 Driver - Am I Doomed?

So they may ask but I don't need to tell them correct?

If you move insurance providers and the new provider asks "Have you been convicted of an offense in the last 5 years?", yes, you'd have to answer as truthfully as possible.

If you're convicted today, your policy requires you to notify the provider of any changes that may impact your ...

Re: Teen driver ARESSTED and charged with Stunt Driving

Your son wasn't arrested for stunt driving. For whatever reason, they felt the need to search the car. It sounds like for the officers safety and his own, they temporarily put him in the back of the cruiser and let him out as soon as they were done. No, it wont impact your border travels.

Your son is not going to jail. Although, there is no set ...

Re: S3(1) Fail To Provide Insurance Card

1) Yes , all tickets can carry POSSIBLE insurance implications, contact your provider for specific details.

2) Yes, but its not likely at all.

3) It depends on the jurisdiction, I'm not familiar with that one.

Re: B license and criminal record

Effective January 1, 2017, the Ministry of Transportation requires drivers who are applying for a Class B or E licence to obtain a Criminal Record & Judicial Matters (CRJM) Check or equivalent. The CRJM Check will ensure regulatory standards under the Highway Traffic Act are met.

An absolute discharge is still a sentence, which leads me to ...

Re: Failure to weigh evidence

To answer both questions:

I took the stand, and I've offered evidence, describing the road conditions, and the events leading to the eventual stop. I was interrupted multiple times (just as I was interrupted during the cross examination), and then told that if I've nothing more to say, I can stand down. The JP also went into a lengthy rant about ...
