got pulled over...
Was doing around 88 in an 80. A honda had just passed me doing around 100, coming into a 70. I saw the cruiser ahead and slowed to 75, the honda kept going. I thought he was nabbing the honda... anyway:
He said he stopped me because my front side windows are tinted and that is illigal (they are not very dark, but all the rears ...

if they are being stuborn on the phone, forget the phone. Send it in writing. The legal way - registered mail, track it, request the changes and provide copies of the relevent paper work.

iPhones with later firmware lock up a lot; apples fault, bad software. I dont dare turn my bluetooth on, i'd never be able to answer it.
And for those who might want to chime in, my phone is carrier unlocked so i cant update to the newest firmware yet :P
I have a wired earphone with a mic in it, but it has a habbit of getting tangled up, more ...

Consent via coersion or intimidation "he had a gun, of course i said yes" is not informed consent.
But that will change. Now it will be "he had a tazer, of course i said yes". Because.... you know... a Judge in Niagara Falls said its ok to tazer people to compel them.

I replied with a smirk that its a cadillac, i cant squeal the tires. Then he said "are you saying you werent talking on the phone? And i hesitated and just said "im not saying anything.

Re: Your rights when the five O pull you over
lots of consented searches get tossed in court. The man above is right, even if they find something it will likely get thrown out. Consent is usually determined to have been given under duress. (The guy had a gun, how could i say no?).
All i can say is, at least they were nice enough to ask.... Niagara cops didn't even give me that.
The answer is ...

I decided it was a good idea to bring a friend with me yesterday. From January to August 11th between the two of us we have sent no less than 8 requests for additional disclosure, all of which were ignored. No replies whatsoever.

Re: Driver fail to provide identification; (not stopped in veh)
i would have to argue that there was no stop.
The house in question was being monitored by police because of complaints with teenagers. Police were simply trying to identify people at the door.
They also retrieved the drivers licence from the car during the detainment in the police car.

Driver fail to provide identification; (not stopped in veh)
after stopping in front of a house, turn car off, exit and walk up sidewalk, officer standing there asks for identification. Officer was asked if he was making an arrest, replied that yes he is now.
After arrest and short stay in rear of cruiser, was released and given ticket in thread title.
Easy win?

So im heading west on a 2 lane, limit is 80. Its a road notorious for people doing 60-70. Its the main road that takes me out of town, usualy when i turn onto it i catch up with the next guy.
Anyhow im following this guy doing 70ish, driving directly into the sun (i think it was in the south-west, was late afternoon). Its pretty bright, slight ...

My Caddy is being retired for a slightly newer one. Ive been browsing all week for cameras, havent decided yet what im installing. Im thinking of keeping it as simple as a keychain cam.
I too have been stopped lots. Ive had my license for 2 years.
Hmm... a list of everything i can remember:
Stopped in my grand prix, pipes too loud, tint too dark ...

Re: Recently disappointed in two officers - Story and questions
the stunt has nothing to do with "squealling of tires" but rather.....
Driving a motor vehicle in a manner that indicates an intention to cause some or all of its tires to lose traction with the surface of the highway while turning
- has to intentionally lose traction while turning
wait what? that is gold...
