Re: Went threw Red Light Camera last night, couple of Questi

Not sure what you mean about "inactive" but as far as I know they rotate the camera's around from spot to spot.

The ticket will go to the owner of the plate not you.

Do you really judge when to stop from the pedestrian light's?

I ask because of some studies that say that they are more dangerous then the old style.

Re: Options??

The slip you got in the mail should have had a date prior to the date you were charged. You produced
a valid slip. Take both with you to court. They should withdraw the charge.
Take the policy's too so that you can back up the story as to dates.

I would ask your broker.
But the ibc website would have it.
The policy # should be the same.
If you have valid insurance on a car and then buy another car
you are covered on it for the same amount of insurance.

Re: Turning right and yellow/red lights

I'm taking a road test next week. I want to be very clear on this!

The stop light turns yellow as you approach to turn right. You come to a full stop. You look around and see that it is safe to turn, but then the light turns red. Can you proceed before traffic starts moving, or do you have to sit and wait for traffic to go and turn when the way ...

Re: 144(9) from a yellow warning sign?

I was travelling west on Lakeshore, and proceeded onto Fleet Street. The sign with the yellow background is new, and does not appear in those street view images.

They probably never thought anyone would do what you did.(very dangerous) The traffic (on fleet) going east Gets a green arrow
to go north on their turn and would not think of traffic ...

Re: 144(9) from a yellow warning sign?

It is a huge intersection. 6 lanes of Lakeshore and 2 of fleet street and 2 of streecar.
The signs are confuzing but the lanes are clearly marked.
It is hard to turn onto lakeshore (left) but suicide to try fleet.
Is that what you did?

If you bring that up they will most likely tell you to get lost with no charge.

The closer you are to the car in front, the less time you have to stop.(old rule was 1 car length per 16 KPH).
IMHO you were careless.

I hate drivers like you that tailgate.
That said you will most likely be offered a lower charge at ER or trial.

I mentioned there 3 minute rule. The ticket guy would hide in either the doorway or the bushes. I read the ticket it said
he observed me there for over 3 minutes. Markham had a maybe rule to reduce the price. It was a pain all the
phone calls and such.

The did offer a lower price .

The old Markham ticket's had a (3 minute warning) ie; you had to be there 3 or more minutes.

Re: Payment Plan help....

I will try again. Read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just attend a court office and ask them if you owe any money.
Once they produce the paper ask to talk to JP
Now you have the paperwork that the JP needs
Once you get to the JP you make a deal.

Again if you make a deal stick to it .

Re: No radar in sight - Should the officer have shown me?

No, there is no rule in Ontario that says the police have to show you the radar gun. Some police officers will show it to you as a courtesy but they don't have to, so the fact that she didn't in this case won't help you in court.

The poster says he never saw a radar gun?

I wonder about that, How can speed be determined.

Re: Need Direction about getting license back

What you do is go to the court with a game plan to pay the fines.
You tell the clerk that you would like to speak to a J.P..

When you get in the room with the J.P. you explain how you will pay the fine.
(post dated cheques are good).
Then explain that you have brought an amount of cash to start it off.

Tell your story and wait for the answer ...

I used to have a very fast car and an even faster bike.(with a lead foot/wrist)

One time (on the bike) I was going so fast that they only caught me because I stopped at a yellow light.
They didn't catch up, to me, until, just as the light changed to green.
I stopped and the cop said he was going 120 mph and that I was pulling away.
