Re: Following too close alternate charge?

I wanna hear what others thing about what R.I said.

Alot of these charges in the OHTA are subject to alot of discression.

With Lidar and Radar you get a reading okay.

But alot of other stuff can be very hard to prove.

How do they prove for example many lange changes, unsafe lane change, and especially following to close.

So lets say your on ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

And hwybear to your response about how these laws have slowed people down. You claim before these "tough" laws.

ILl make a point about ethics perhaps.

Do you agree with the qoute "Sometimes good people have to do bad things."

Well i don't. I have ZERO respect for this man. I share his wish of safer roads, but face the fact he took powers he did ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

Sorry to ask a redundant question but what is actually going on about this.

I have read a few articles and now seen cases where people won because of this issue with the road side trial.

So is it basically any time lawyers are going to take this to the crown or supreme court and if they rule the road side trial (impoundment for speeding) is ...

Re: MPP (PC Leader Candidate) wants speed limit Increased

Man what did Fantino say.

He must have said let's tar and feather this guy and he is crazy and raising the limit to 110 is going to cause so many more deaths every year.

I mean all those Germans with no limits on their autobahn, Many other europeans with posted limits of 120-130, the other canadian provinces with max limits of 110, and those ...

Re: Didn't Learn the 1st Time

Well it goes to show how reckless some people are and they just don't care.

IMO the fine should be more, he already had a stunt driving conviction + No insurance (sint that a maximum of 5k), + suspended license?

I thought the fine for 50 over was already a max of 2000.

What time in the morning.

Was he going 190 at 3:30 am in the morning or was ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

Good point. So another driver has to make a couple of lane-changes to get around a couple of these inconsiderate f-words and all of a sudden he's a "street racer." What a way to treat the result instead of treating the cause.

Ahhhh finally another person who sees Cause and Effect i have been saying this for so long.

I believe for example most ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

Sorry squishy i was not referring to that i was in a hurry and i was reading your posts about talking about even having a law like that in the first place and wether or not we should have one whatit should define, etc.

I was just responding to why they're is so much confusion about moving to the right except to pass.

I also believe we should ...

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

What is this move right nonsense.

Its so simple.

If your on the 401 and there is a km of cars backed up behind you and all the road infront of you is wide open.....

ding! you are the problem, move over, you are holding up the flow of traffic.

The same goes for all those trucks in the middle.

If every single vehicle behind you is going ...

Re: Don't run

Wow i wonder what these guys see in that plane up on the hwy 400 on a long weekend.

Must be like everything you can find that is AGAINST the law in the OHTA.

I would love to sit in this plane on the July 1st weekend for the whole trip up to barrie and back to watch the madness.

Re: Don't run

Well Radar Identified we forgot one thing.

I heard the OPP will call in the Air Force in case someone robbed a tim horton's or stole all their doughnuts.

In that case you would close off the whole highway and call in the Air Force but i doubt anyone would try to hold up a tim hortons off of a 400 series highway.

But good point as to ...

I had to use the 2004 cause the other ones don't have it in there.

Is there any way to view the OPP's actual stats or records?

Only the MTO site seems to have these kind of statistics.

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

If this does get repealed this will make big time news. Well if its gets changed i heard Fantino's time is up soon
The law was not put into affect by Fantino, but by "your" elected government period.
Fantino has been an excellent leader for us. The most important thing is he supports the very front line officers that work day/night.

Re: JP rules - HTA172 violates the charter

Correct but i was referring to using the law in general for other things it has and not just using 172 for 50 over.

Using 172 would not make a difference whether or not it included impoundment on the stop.

I was just saying if this law was not so "bold" or extreme to impound your vehicle officers may begin to use this law for other things as i ...
