Re: Bad Drivers?

No laws or stiff penalties will fix our problems on the open road. The only hope we have for a safer and more efficient driving experience is to alter the "philosophy" of driving from one of rules and regulations to one of respect and consideration for our fellow motorists.

Those who drive with little or no respect for those behind them are real ...

Re: Bad Drivers?

I think i know what it is the guy in the blue station wagon must be Jim Kenzie and that is Julian Fantino behind him.

Either that or the officer sees doughnuts in his car and is trying to catch him to see if its for real.

Re: Interesting article about court appearances. Opinions?

Squishy no.

That 100 km/hr limit is not the most effecient speed for everyone.

A 6 cylinder ford explorer and a v8 corvette will both have a "most effecient speed".

No two engines are the same, neither is the car, the weight, etc.

Regardless of what you guys say we could have no speed limit it wont mean everyone is gonna go wild.

Most people ...

Re: 186 km/hr on the Gardiner

It was like that one where Miss Fischer was going 168 on a hillcrest somewhere in the back roads.

She went up over the hill and crashed into a senior citizen.

I had to dig for that one.

Boy186 on a 3 lane expressway and one of Ontario's finest going 168 crashing into an old lady who in know way would have seen her coming hardly breaks news?

It ...

Re: 186 km/hr on the Gardiner

I still find it amazing.

186.... people have been caught going alot faster than that.

I have heard a few stories where people were speeding even worse and it never made the news.

Why is this one so special?

Re: 186 km/hr on the Gardiner

I agree maybe careless driving, etc.

He was probably swerving lanes, etc.

Lol "Car towed for a week"

Impounded? i think they meant. The media never provides any info.

The last time they reported the 250 km/hr on the 400 they mentioned a "laser radar device." I am sure hwybear must have had quite the chuckle over that one  or a sick ...

Re: Interesting article about court appearances. Opinions?

Not at all. It does not flow fine.

The 100 limit wreaks havoc on lane discipline.

I don't think we have good lane discipline and a real speed limit when every vehicle on the road is going 15 over and they are crammed into the 2 left lanes trying to pass a bunch of slow moving vehicles in the middle lane who are scared to drive in the right lane ...

Am i missing something. What did this guy do so special to make the news ?

That's interesting and we never heard about Miss Heidi Fischer's day in court. Well that happened almost a month ago. Was the news about Robert Tapp even public ...

Re: Interesting article about court appearances. Opinions?

I totally understand from your point of view bear i would say the same thing.

But really you guys are paid for by tax payers to make the roads safer.

We cant blame the OPP for all our problem's i think alot of it comes from the MTO which never gets any blame (speed limits, driver licensing/ education system, Julian Fantino, McGuinty.)

No one ...

Re: Case Law Update

Okay humm flow of traffic at 180.

I don't know about that.

Okay maybe on the 400 N or the 407 but i doubt this.

First of all anyone that sees a cruiser will not have the balls to drive over 130. I mean if you are your probably more likely to run.

I have seen very fast flow of traffic up to high 140 a few times on the 401.

Secondly this guy is ...

Re: Pulling over a group of bikes

Ya i have seen a guy try to run once about 2 years ago.

I guess he was on the 407 and going a little to fast it was pretty nice weather and hot outside he must have been going a bit over 150 and wanted to take the risk.

I saw the cop and i dont think he saw her until she had her lights on then she was way behind about 10-20 cars and he stalled ...

Re: Bad Drivers?

Thanks for reply bear really good post!!!

I had no idea lidar cost's that much.

Are they actually 5000 $ or are those the new units?

Small question i know another officer with a local force he said they run 6-6 shifts x 12 hours.

So how does that work when you have all your officers done at 6 who is gonna watch the roads in between?

Neat about ...

Re: Crown Vics/Chargers/Tahoe's

Those Tahoe look really cool i like them.

The crown vics are the best i must agree.

Is that for real they mean 130 km/hr rear end crash with the officer sitting still?

Thats perfect for you guys. Considering in GTA tons of motorists go that speed already i would demand the safety.

Are the highway safety divisions even using Chargers.?

Does the ...
