Re: Nervous and in need of help

You paralegal is probably right, as in your case there is not only fact that you were speeding 49 over but also your having a G1 license, which will complicate things over for you. Good luck fighting it.

Re: Nervous and in need of help

Impossible is nothing, although many things are quite improbable. Do you know anyone who had a similar charge that they did not fight?

Re: Nervous and in need of help

Bah, we have a beautiful "Demerit Points System" section complete with OHTA subsections right on the very bootom of our site, to the left of Breathalyzer Test.

Whats a "BOOTOM"?? Is that a new computer term for that Iphone thing I keep hearing about??

That is a mipsrint :P :D

Then if Nervous was indeed speeding 49 over, then his fine with ...

ticketcombat wrote:I like the OCJ layout because it is easy to read the speeding fines.
Fines are not our business. Fighting them is.
The surcharge starts at $10
Then, according to the fine system we have posted and hwybear's input, the fine is $280 in per-kilometre, plus $15 = $295 as per hwybear. What would be the case of a $10 surcharge?

Here's one other pet peeve of mine

People blasting music with base so loud that MY windshield vibrates to the beat... Cannot hear anyhting else, and most time those people have no taste in music, leaving others to suffer to their cacophony.

Re: Nervous and in need of help

For reference, you can look up how many demerit points here , the amount of the fine for speeding under the Ontario Court of Justice and the victim surcharge under Regulation 161/00 of the POA.

Re: Follow too close AND the guy in front

shouldn't the guy in front of me also be charged for being in the left lane

Never think that way. The ticket is yours only. OHTA does not provide for someone travelling in the leftmost lane, nor does it prohibit doing so. Neither does it prohibit overtaking someone on the right lane. If you approached that guy that close it means you were ...

Re: What are your Driving Pet Peeves?

I cannot stand people who make a stop on the right lane (especially/mostly in downtown Toronto, where there are a lot of busy 2-lane streets), and get off the car to go somewhere, or just park there and wait to pick someone up or something, and in turn congest the whole street, as if it's his own driveway.

There must be some sort of regulations ...

Re: Nervous and in need of help

The fine will be (approx) 40 km/h * 7 $/(km/h) = $280 + court fees (yes, they are included), so you are looking at about $350

Your G licensed driver should be OK - after all, YOU were the one speeding, he did not press the gas pedal.

As for legal representation, you probably should get a paralegal. A paralegal will be able to reduce that speeding ...

Re: Right/Left Turn Help

Well, just to make it nice and easy for you, your speed should be <20 km/h for a right turn and <30 km/h for the left one. Practice with your family member who had had a "G" license for 4+ years, just doing turns. And to make a full right turn you need to (usually, depending on a car model) turn your steering wheel about 3/4 of a turn to the right ...
