Thanks guys.. I just found the first statement for reasonable doubt... this quote is great ......
"You can't make out makes of vehicles, but you can pick out the colour, position and tell a truck from a car." -- OPP pilot Dan Cameron
Does not seem like much doubt at all.....we do it all the time at ground level (obs 4dr blue sedan, kept sight ...

Re: Requesting disclosure in toronto
will be against the radar unit, as it has no way of telling which target(car) it got the speed from and there were A LOT of cars near me and at the opposite direction. The bridge also have lots of metal parts.
- Majority of radar units have directional capabilities in stationary mode, thus eliminates opposite direction traffic all together ...

Re: Airplane Caught Me!
The whole plane idea is based from the OHIO State Police program
We are trained by our own members. One pilot and the observer in ours. Think it is a lot easier for the observer to write notes of an offence rather than a solo pilot, unless theirs is all digitally voice recorded *thumbs up*
I do not know what markings are on Hwy 11 or Hwy 400. Ours ...

Re: Airplane Caught Me!
It is the observer officer in the plane.
Not using VASCAR either....that is a way to measure speeds of vehicles while on the ground, mostly in the USA.
I was recently in the air at about 1000 feet, it is NOT hard to see the vehicles or colour at all, easy to pick things out. Just say have a "dinky car", put it on the floor and stand up and look ...

Re: Airplane Caught Me!
Not as easy as you might think.
It is identical procedure as we use for LIDAR intercept programs.
One officer does the targetting with the lidar (gathering of evidence...such as an officer would in a plane) relays via radio to the intercepting officer. They confirm the vehicle and the intercepting officer writes the offence notice based on the ...

NONE of that helps "the shocker" at all in regards to finding the answers he/she needs. Only thing it proves is you need really big boots to wade through that post"

Well, you should have just turned "off" "your lights" and kept going...brianguy16 wrote: At this time i was going 90km/hr but that didn't stop him from turning on my lights and pulling me over.

Re: Because we all dream
It might curb the racing, but will those that go to the track then get a false sense of security and even be worse on the hwy as now they think they are "all that AND a bag of chips"? Totally forgetting that they are now amongst the every day mix of people

Re: Because we all dream
That would be awesome.
I have been to the Chrysler Proving grounds and Grattan Speedway, both in Michigan.
Would be nice to have open area like those to actually test vehicles. Not just a straight runway...every car hopefully can go straight, but good curves, hills, speed bumps for suspension testing as well

Re: OPP cruiser Struck on 401
The news updated this collision this morning. It was weather related. A blinding rain storm had hit the area.
If that is the case...and one can not see properly to stay within a marked lane......there is a problem......slow the *beep* down.
***No OPP media release yet as a cause***(just checked Ingersoll OPP site)
Same as the big fog collision ...

An OPP cruiser was struck and the officer and two citizens were sent to hospital with minor injuries today.
At noon hour (23JUL08), an OPP Highway Safety Division officer had stopped on the north shoulder of the westbound Highway 401, west of Ingersoll, to assist a motorist whose pickup truck had gone into the north ditch. The officer had the ...
