Or does some test need to be done before a charge can be laid?
OF course! but "all over the road the odor of booze in the vechicle, breath,a wobbley pop walk!" all lead to the test... (Breathalyzer, lest you refuse, then the blood test, which you cannot refuse)
On that scenario...arrest for impaired driving.

Re: speeding 15 and under
This is just a guess on my part, and I know I'm going to get a reaction for saying it, but my experience has been that if the cop reduces the ticket at the traffic stop, they are less likely to show up in court if you fight it. They are doing themselves a favour knowing you are more likely to pay a lower fine and they don't have to show up in ...

From a every day person side of things....that is just "beeping" rude / ignorant / inconsiderate etc parking in a handicap spot.coreythestar wrote:My partner got a ticket for parking in disabled parking, and we don't want to pay!
next worse is parking in a fire route!

To my understanding tickets are tracked via a drivers licence number. Someone else will have this added to their licence? Any others on this?

Re: If I dont get disclosure
hwybear, why can't you guys (or the gov't legislate it) so that when you pull a car over, they MUST EXIT the highway? Why must we keep putting officers lives in peril when the simple solution is to stop pulling cars over on the shoulder? In a built up area, highway exits are frequent, so there is no reason why this cannot be done.

I experience the same threat every time I pass an oncoming car in the opposite lane. The accumulative speed of 160kmp+ would be the crash speed if that guy were to veer just a few feet in my direction.

Re: If I dont get disclosure
I had an experience last week that could maybe shed some light on this problem. After 6 straight hours behind the wheel through the middle of the night, I suddenly got very tired just 1/2 hour from home. I thought I could manage the rest of the trip, but found myself wandering a little in my lane. I chose to stop and power-nap for 5 minutes or so ...

Another example of a driver not paying attention while they are driving. Try looking past the front of the hood and might see the flashing lights ahead of you.
Rather than a ticket, maybe every driver that doesn't move over should be put in an office chair and have a vehicle go past them within 3 feet. Add to the experience, just touch on the ...

It's all subjective. What may seem like "rush hour" or conjestion to one person, may not be the case for another. However, the traffic flow was up there. I mean the lights separated alot of it, but it was none the less a busy time.

There are so many variables involved in each stop and each officer is different.
Some deciding factors I use are:
- admitting to offence (honesty)
- polite
- music off or low
- all windows down
- interior light on at night
- not an offence that has directly affected me (cutting off my cruiser, fail to move left)
- pull over prior to light ...

My area is Provincial Hwy and revenue goes right to the Municipality....and I work for the Province. Municipality runs the courts.
Not sure at year end if any percentage goes back to the Province or not as it was a Provincial Highway where the offence happened. OR if the Municipality just pays the JP's wages and keeps the rest

I have 2 dogs, so I'm the animal lover.
Had similiar situation about 2 weeks ago. I told them to drive the speed limit and I followed them to the animal hospital...to ensure the story was not BS. And then gave the driver a warning for the speed! (my animal heart)
Have also stopped persons rushing to hospital. If practicable I will get them into ...

Can the officer prove YOU were the one that parked there? Did he see you park there?
You wouldn't want to take the stand and lie about who was driving, but there's nothing wrong with ensuring the Crown can prove their case by proving who was driving.
Is this just not a plain ole parking ticket? that does not go on a driver's licence anyway ...

If the residential street is small enough, less than 150 metres, the U-turn would be illegal but parking facing the wrong way may not be.
So the u-turn is also a bylaw?
And park parking signs...the city would then have to put signs up facing the wrong way, just in case someone parked the wrong way? Otherwise the next defence would be the sign was ...

Re: Parking wrong way on road
I've seen signs stating you must park facing the same direction of traffic and you should find examples of them to show in court. Your argument: there was no sign, a reasonable person would expect a sign if it was illegal to park that way.
A reasonable person would not drive across the path of oncoming traffic just to park on the opposite side ...
