Thanks.

Why do people say that they end up spending the whole day in court?

Or am I missing something?

Trial is @ 2pm

Do I need to take the day off?

I hear people spending the whole day in the court room before being called.

But in my notification it says clearly at 2pm.

So can I arrive around 1pm?

Thanks.

Re: 13 months = stay of charges?

The notice of trial arrived by mail last Thursday.

I just faxed the disclosure request.

Thanks guys!!!

I have a few questions though, which I'll be asking in a new topic.

Re: 13 months = stay of charges?

Is this disclosure request form ok?

http://respect.to/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=LegalInfo.RequestForDisclosureForm

As for the 4F template, that's when I submit a request for stay of charges (11(b)), at least two weeks before the trial date, right?

Thanks!

Re: 13 months = stay of charges?

You can search or goto a paralegal to draft your File form 4F, "Notice of Constituional Question" I believe it is. Your choice.

Hi Reflections,

I would like to send a letter to the court office saying that I haven't received the notification yet and requesting if they could "speed up" the process.

Would you have a template?

Thanks again.

Re: 13 months = stay of charges?

Thanks a lot!

It's for a "136(1)(a) disobey stop sign" ticket.

I'd like to send a letter to the court office saying that I haven't received a notification yet and requesting a trial date ASAP.

Is there a template somewhere?

I know this is important for the 11(b) argument...

13 months = stay of charges?

I got this ticket in November of 2009 and requested a trial date.

I haven't receiving any notification yet. It's been almost 10 months.
So today I visited the court office and the lady searched the system.

She says there's a date for the trial, end of December of 2010.
That's going to be 13 months. I didn't sign anything, so officially I think I ...

I got a ticket in November of 2009 and requested a trial.

I haven't received anything yet, that's almot 10 months..

I'm hoping that it will reach the 12 month period for the 11(b) argument.

Should I send them a letter asking why I haven't received anything?

What exactly is a "by-law"?

How can it not affect your insurance record?

There's this HOV lane on Don Mills, that begins south of Finch. If a cop tickets me, is that also a by-law infringement?

Interesting...

Red Light Camera :( (Lakeshore Blvd & York St)

So I was going westbound on Lakeshore Blvd, when I reach York St. the light turns yellow and I proceed. It turns red when I am perhaps one meter or so before the white line (below the red light).

However, I noticed that on the left lane a truck was in the middle of the intersection behind me. The red light camera flashed.

Did I trigger the camera ...

Ticket was issued Dec 2009 and you already have a date in court this June?

Wow that's fast.

My ticket was issued November and I still haven't heard anything. But that's North York.

Whatever the issue is, the very first step is to chose the "Option (3) Plead Not Guilty option".

So I can wait until very last moment to plead not guilty to the judge, right?

Re: HTA 136 (1)(a) - requesting disclosure

There's one last question:

I checked the option "Request Interpreter". I am following TicketCombat's advice.

I do speak English, however, I am a lot more fluent in the language I chose in option 3.

I'm concerned that this may backfire on me.

Should I simply forget English on the trial date and plead guilty?
The cop may say that I spoke English ...

If the cop shows up and sees that I'm pleading guilty in an attempt to lower the fine and the charge, could he try to influence the prosecutor otherwise?

In fact, could prosecutor increase charge and fine because of such notes?

Depends on the Prosecutor.
Can't the Prosecutor get offended if I ask him to change to conviction from "Failed to Stop Sign" to "Improper Muffler"?

If the cop is present, can he object to this?

Will the Improper Muffler conviction affect insurance?

Thanks.

HTA 136 (1)(a) - requesting disclosure

So I got one two weeks ago on a nice Friday 13th...

Last week I went to the Offences Office and submitted Option 3 (plead not guilty). Trial date to be sent in approximately 6 months.

My intention is to delay as much as I can.

When should I request the disclosure?

According to Ticket Combat, it should be done right away.

I called the ...
