Re: Multiple tickets including Red Light - Fail to Stop
Yes, that's why I'd like to take Option 2 for the first two doc-related tickets and hope them dropped at a meeting with a prosecutor. Then, I'd only have the red light ticket at a trial.
The whole idea of them dropping maybe one of the the lesser charges is so there's no trial. If you're going to go to trial anyways, what's the point? They might ...

Re: Unnecessary Noise for Bass?
So the next point you could try to win on, is that "unnecessary noise" is in the subjective opinion of the officer. Since there is no specific decibel level set as to what is unnecessary noise, it is up to the officers opinion. So you need to question him on his training to determine noise levels. Of course he does not have any, so the questioning ...

This is my understanding.
Towing companies have contracts with the cities. These tenders come up every couple years or so and the various companies will bid for the contract. The officer is correct. There's way too many variables to give you an answer.

Let me expand.
If you sit around for months and wait until the last minute to request disclosure, it will be used against you. You're going to argue how you don't have disclosure and the other side is going to make the point that you've made no attempt to request disclosure until the last minute.

You're supposed to want disclosure as soon as possible. Waiting until the last minute or waiting until it's impossible to respond doesn't benefit you.
You're only sabotaging your own trial.

The side of the road isn't a courtroom. You are simply being charged. You haven't been convicted of anything.

I would have easily been able to get out of an actual fine since he got the model of my car wrong and was totally BSing me the whole time.
You'd be wrong. There's nothing about a wrong model that would make your case easily winnable. Also, when talking about HTA offenses, careless driving is up there as one of the worst.

If you request a trial, they'll still make you an offer beforehand. You can request disclosure while you wait for your trial. Either that or just request an early resolution meeting. It's up to you.

Go to a Drivetest Centre and see if they'll print you out another one.
In the meantime, select an early resolution meeting. Don't plead guilty. By the time the meeting comes around, show them your license that was valid at the time and they will probably drop it.

Drivers Handbook is a guideline only. It'll say that in the opening of the book. There are some instances in the book where it'll tell you not to do something (safety and common sense first), but it doesn't mean it's illegal under the HTA.

Radar Identified was pretty spot on.
If you want to make this argument, you'll have to have a full blown trial.
That being said, you're making a case out of assumptions. You have no disclosure and you're interpreting what the officer did and did not see. An officer doesn't need a 100% visual of your vehicle at all times anyways.
