Re: New Member? Come and say Hi and Introduce yourself here! :)

The number "8" represents a emoticon. Each tim you cite the number 8 in a provison the emoticon appears instead of the number.

You should remove that emoticon or change it so it's not represented by the number 8.

These are standard emoticons. If you want to disable smilies in posts then check the option "Disable Smilies in this post".

And the ...

And maybe you can show me how to post the pics up. Having a hard time figuring it out.

To have your picture show in posts (which I fixed for you above), do the following two steps:

1. Use BBCode enabled (this is by defualt, unless 'Disable BBCode in this post' option is checked)

2. Use the BBcode [img] http://example.com/your-picture.jpg ...

Doesn't mean you'll win everytime. You'll win under my argument though because I know the law.

OK...Soo if you won't win every time, WHY in the world would you advise people to refuse the breathalyzer test?

:?

Also, maybe you would like to elaborate on exactly what your defense strategy would be in such a case.

And perhaps list a few ...

Re: Impaired Info?

What exactly defines "a reasonable excuse" ??

And I don't think not wanting your car to be towed would be considered a reasonable excuse.

And has there ever been a successful case about this or is this just some research work you decided to do one day??

Thanks

So your telling people NOT to blow on breathalyzer tests?

Do you realize it is a criminal offense and you will be charged with "Failure to provide a breath sample."

Re: re: registered agent?

If you are paying some body to defend you in court then you do require a registered court agent such as a paralegal.

But if you just want your dad etc to go in for you, then I would contact your court office and get more details about how that works now.

Re: Report impaired or cancel insurance policy

You don't really have to notify your insurance company. They will find out on their own anyways.

Your insurance company is gonna kick you off anyways. So you can either wait till they kick you off, or just tell them and get kicked off sooner.

It can take them up to a couple months to kick you off if your lucky. Depends on your insurance company ...

Re: GPS

As ticketcombat explains, GPS for consumer use is never 100% accurate.

I had the same frustration when I first used my GPS. It is a TomTom which is not bad IMO, but I used it while walking lol, while visiting relatives in Florida, in a new neighbor hood.

The GPS didn't exactly get me to my pin pointed location, but nevertheless it got me to the ...

Re: Demerit Points for Out-of-Province Convictions

Can Ontario Canadian's get Demerit Points for Out of Province Offences while driving in the United States?
Yes! However, only TWO states can apply Demerit Points towards your Ontario Drivers License. The State of New York, and the State of Michigan.

Interesting.......when the HTA OREG 339/94 section 4(1) reads...

Re: Impaired Info?

Impaired driving requires a combination of driving observations: weaving, erratic driving, etc, and and physical observations: alcoholic odor, dilated pupils, slurred speech, etc.

Over 80 doesn't require proof of impairment, just proof of alcohol concentration. But there has to be suspicion of alcohol to demand the test in the first place. A ...

"It's just a dog, you can get another one," Officer Paul Stephens is heard saying.

A couple was stopped for a speeding ticket, as they were trying to take their sick dog to the vet.

The dog died while the officer gave them a ticket for speeding.

Warning of speed traps perfectly legal

I believe there was an incident where a TO man was charged for signaling other drivers about a speed trap..

The charge was for "alternating flashing headlights typically used by emergency vehicles."

According to official police statements it is not illegal!

Here is a good article about such a case:

Re: What are your Driving Pet Peeves?

First and foremost... I hate people failing to chage lanes when an emergency vehicle (such as a police cruiser) is on the shoulder of a highway.

Oh yeah I totally hear that...

You know what I still don't understand are the people who STILL don't know that you HAVE to pull to the right and STOP when any fire truck or ambulance is approaching ...

Wow I had no idea you could actually be caught and be ticketed by an airplane...

How does that happen exactly? Did a cruiser actually pull you over and notify you? or did you get notified in the mail or something?

I mean I am assuming an actual airplane didn't pull you over, so I would be interested in knowing the procedure of how one gets this ...
