Re: Cellphone ticket while looking for address
According to the law the GPS has to be mounted on the dashboard. But I'm wondering Can I use my Tablets GPS unit without mounting it? It is a 10" screen and would just lay on the passenger seat.

Thats a good line to draw. I heard of a girl that got a careless when she was eating cereal in a bowl while driving LOL. When the cop pulled her over she had cereal all over her LOL.
I would be interested to know if drinking coffee is allowed or not while driving.

Actually, I am going to answer my own question. You do have to be pulled off the road and in park.

Sorry Atal, looks like your best bet is going to be a plea bargain to reduced charge/fine.

Re: Cellphone ticket while looking for address
Hmm interesting, but he did say he was stopped at the Red. I know any hand held device is not allowed while driving but he was stopped at a Red Light though and was not technically in motion at the time.
So then would that mean that to use any hand held device you must be off the road, in park, and car turned off?
Also, would a cup of coffee be ...

Re: Cellphone ticket while looking for address
That does kinda suck. I know alot of the new smartphones give maps and directions now. Maybe try option 3 to plea down, but you will prob lose in court. Maybe argue and suggest you were using it as a GPS. Get a copy of your phone bill and make sure theres no calls at that time either. No calls/texts and then I would personally try to argue I was ...

Guilty with explanation should work, just be like your unemployed and you can't afford the ticket and you are REALLY sorry (Lesson Learned!) and bla bla bla and JP will ask you what you can afford and say something like $10.

For a summons, don't think you can do a first attendance because you don't know what your charged with yet. As for your fine, I have heard of instances of upto 6 months to 2 years to pay it off. Explain your reasoning and you can usually get the extension.

With option 3 you can talk to the prosecutor under first attendance and you can ask for a lesser fine...just be like im sorry and bla bla bla bla....
These tickets dont have any points.

Re: Not wearing corrective lenses and speeding
How bad is your eye sight? How were you driving then if you could not see? My point is that if you can drive with out corrective lenses maybe go back to the MTO and do the test again to get the restriction off your licence. Otherwise think you should just do a plea.

No its not normal to do that, and you might have a drinking problem if you are contemplating such things. Why dont you just drink in a bar and then get your friend to drive you around after? You should not drink in the car as a passenger. Thats a very ...

IMO if a cop car is behind you and is obviously trying to get you out of the way (while you are also in the fast lane and doing minimum speed limit) , then MOVE the HELL OVER! Whats wrong with you seriously I would ask lol? Haha I find this video hilarious tho. I would do the same if I was in the Cops shoes..

Thats very interesting. I take back what I said about that then. I thought you just have to give your contact info and insurance info. But isn't it kinda weird giving out your license number to a stranger? There's a lot of identity theft going around. I would feel a bit nervous about giving anyone my license number!

Careless driving charges can be dropped completely. I would hire a Paralegal for this one.

I would definitely agree with a charge for unsafe vehicle here, because imo the wipers are essential in Canada considering our weird weather patterns here. I mean when they say its not going to rain, it rains, and then, when they say its not going to snow, it snows!

Aside from getting a ticket, what happens if it rains? How would you see clearly? Or is it just a hot sunny day type of ride?
