Re: New regulation in the news

Just adding onto this, the new crosswalk law, where you need to wait until the person completely exits the intersection. There is one right near the entrance of my work, and 9/10 times, someone is usually crossing. So I stop, wait for them to completely finish crossing, then proceed. I'd say out of all the times I do that, 50% of the time ...

Re: New regulation in the news

The regulation is not HTA related... Topic MOVED

Regulation mostly deals with people on foot.

However, people still need to be cognizant of all laws. There are so many areas even within one Act, such as the HTA that people don't know, once an officer knows a section, then can enforce it. A couple come to mind that rarely people know. If a road ...

Re: Stunt driving ?? - 135 in 80 zone

Even if the zone drops from 100 to 80, you were caught doing 135. There's no if, ands or buts. Speeding is speeding. Going with the flow of traffic I understand, but I highly doubt traffic was flowing at 130-140. Majority of the time when I'm on the 410, everyones doing 80-110, with the occasional Honda/Acura swerving lanes.

Just go to your ...

Maybe if the proper channels were used, i.e. calling 911 prior, then a summons wouldn't be issued. None the less, if I'm getting chased by armed gunmen, I really don't care, I'm gonna slap 210 right across any road I can.

No officer just "gives out tickets". You break the law, you get a ticket. If you are polite and respectful, you could get a warning or reduced charge. But if you roll your window down 2 inches, saying I am giving you my license because I am required to and it is not voluntary, as well as saying I refuse to say anything to incriminate myself, then ...

I was under the assumption as if they don't ask, I don't reveal. I'm not lying to them, just not telling them about it. If they ask, I'll be truthful. I've been on the same policy with the same provider for 7 years and not once have they asked me about tickets.

As for the OTT chances, they have a database on which officer shows up to court or not. My guess is they have 10 cases with that officer, he missed court 6 times, and showed up 4 times, or something along those lines. I highly doubt an officer is going to come up to your car and say "The reason I'm stopping you is because it's the last day of the month." Usually if you get stopped, it's because either A) You're breaking the law or B) They suspect you're breaking the law. As Argyll posted somewhere before, police have every right to stop you once you're on a ...

Given that OP is looking for a reduced charge, he should not have any issues talking to prosecution, talking to the officer won't help him since the officer can not reduce the charge he already filed.

The OP doesn't want a reduced charge, she wants no charge, or a Non-HTA charge. Don't quote me on this, but I remember reading that some bylaw ...

I don't know where you got 45 days from. You have 15 days (and I'm pretty sure the officer told you that as well) to select one of the three options. Whether they told you that you can fax the documents or not would be deciding on the jurisdiction. At this point, you will have to file a reopening and plead Not Guilty if it's granted.
