Please Turn On Your Lights...

Good Morning Y'All

As the holidays are fast approaching, and it is getting darker outside faster, I would like to remind people that LIGHTS ARE MANDATORY 1 HOUR AFTER DAWN AND 1 HOUR BEFORE DUSK.

On a side note, I'm really tired of people driving without their lights on (especially at night, driving a black car). My question to you is, Can I ...

Re: technical radar question

If you choose to take the stand, here's something similar to what might me said.

CP: So you were speeding 72 in a 50.
SR: No, I was doing 59 in a 50.
CP: How are you certain you were doing 59?
SR: My speedometer said I was traveling at 59 km/hour.
CP: Is your speedometer a digital speedometer, or analog speedometer?
SR: It is analog. (95% of cars ...

Re: I Really Am Unlucky.

So I keep checking the City of Toronto Website, The Ticket still has not been filed. If I'm not mistaken, there are certain time periods where the ticket needs to be filed in order to be valid (7 Days IIRC). If it happens to pass that date, what would the procedure be to get it quashed?

Re: I Really Am Unlucky.

I'll be honest, Yes I have been licensed for 5 years, and I have screwed up back when I was in high school. I've been working on bettering myself, knowing that driving is a right, not a privilege. From 2012-2014 I did not recieve any tickets until that one Disobey Sign, and ever since then, I've been downhill, but trying to get back on the right ...

Re: Proceed before green

That Clearly looks like $265, which would make it a fatal error. You should ignore the ticket, and it should be quashed. Hopefully the Justice of the Peace will see the error and dismiss the ticket. If the JP messes up and you DO receive a notice that you were found guilty, then you have to file an appeal and you can get it thrown out that way ...

Take a Picture of the Ticket with all personal information Blacked out.

The set fine should be $260. If it clearly looks like $265, then that is a fatal error.

I Really Am Unlucky.

So Again, I really don't know how I'm attracting attention to myself, but I am.

Saturday at 1:30 in the morning I was pulled over on the 400 for 142 in a posted 100 Zone. Honestly, I know I was speeding, but I thought maybe 110-120 (I'm trying to clean up my act.) Anyways, Pulled over, Ticketed, Explained 3 options on the back, and we departed on ...

2 Tickets Same Time, Different Courthouses

Unlucky Duck's the name, getting tickets is my game.

Unfortuatly, I was driving in Mississauga on Derry Road at Goreway and to my surprise was pulled over by a YORK REGION Officer. Last time I checked, that was Peel. Anyways, I was told my license plate light was out, followed by him asking for my ownership, license and insurance.

After waiting ...

There is almost a 0% chance of a deal being made on this. Prosecutors may drop a stunt speed if they are over 2 or 3 Km/H maybe even a bit more on a good day, but being over by 68, not going to happen. You will be fighting the stunt charge as laid.

Reread the original post. It was 88 over, not 68. Really surprised you only got stunt. I'd try to ...

Hey Everybody,

6 Months has passed and still have not recieved anything in the mail (knock on wood). Lets say this goes past 10 months and still no trial date set, can I file an 11b? Just curious as this might be a lot easier than actually going to trial?

He signaled every lane change, so that wouldn't be laid. Sorry for leaving that out. As for the totality of the incident, does an accident have to occur for careless to be charged? Or can it be just someone driving stupidly?

Swerving lanes?

Just a curious question that came to my mind during my drive to school. I was on my way, heavy traffic as usual during rush hour. Traffic was moving at approx. 40km/h in a 60 km/h zone. All of a sudden I see a black car doing approx. 60 km/h swerving through lanes. My question to you guys is, what charge could be laid if an officer pulled him over ...

Juat curious. Even though the black SUV didn't stop, it held it's lane, and the vehicle with the dash cam made no attempt to he their lane. So wouldn't that be an unsafe lane change by the DashCam vehicle therefore 100% fault for the dash cam vehicle?

Don't quote me on this, but you're supposed to apply for a permit within 7 days of purchase (or something like that), reason why you got #5. Since you never applied for the permit, that explains #1. Dealer plates can only be used if the vehicle is owned by the dealership, which explains 2 and 4. Usually garsge/ dealer insurance covers those ...

Re: Phone meeting with prosecutor NEXT WEEK! Please help

First off, let me clarify the meaning "Early Resolution". A lot of people believe this is where you can walk in, and pray that the prosecutor drops the charge, no. I think the old title of this would be better, which was "GUILTY WITH AN EXPLINATION". It's HIGHLY unlikely that this will get dropped, but then again I got Stunt reduced to 15 Over ...

Re: Phone meeting with prosecutor NEXT WEEK! Please help

Usually what happens in these early resolution meetings is the prosecutor tells you what you were charge with, and then offer you a reduced charge if they want. You could probably get it reduced to Left Turn - Not in Safety which carries a fine of $110 and 2 points. If you agree to it, they'll explain how to pay it, if you try and challenge what ...

Keep in mind, 16 over carries a total fine of $55 and 3 demerit points. If worst comes to worse, see if the prosecutor will offer a plea to 15 over. Some may argue that its only 1 km, but the total fine is $52.50 and 0 Points.

Remember, speeding is an absolute liability charge. If you go in saying that you were speeding, but doing 110, not 119, they will easily convict you. Just keep that in mind when preparing your defense.

Good Morning Everyone,

So just so happened to be my birthday, as well as my grandmother's funeral today. I currently am still in shock over the passing and sometimes zone out and think to myself. This morning, I didn't happen to pay attention to my speed, and that's when I got clocked. The officer pulled out from a plaza, almost ramming my car ...
