Re: Mounting plates

Can the officer get a reading from the front without a license plate?

Well a radar unit i assume would be able to get a reading although the metal reflective cover would be quite useful.

Although what i am referring to is a lidar unit which is always hand held. Usually lidar is facing on coming traffic to get a reading where as radar can be used ...

Re: Criminal Code Section 39 re impounding of Car

In fact this law lets the real street racers off the ones who should be charged with careless driving, this stunt racing law lets them off easier!.

How do you figure that?
Careless = $325 and 6 points
172 = $2000 and 6 points

OK, give the "racers" 2 charges, Careless and Dangerous. Dangerous is not that hard to prove. We can change the fine ...

Re: Mounting plates

Just don't put a license plate on the front of the car.

Thats where they aim the cross hairs on the lidar unit to get your speed.

The license plate reflects those small pulses of light really well. I wonder if it still works or can get a speed with no plate on the front.....

Yes, it's only there to help get a reading, that and the legal ...

Re: Criminal Code Section 39 re impounding of Car

If 172 gets removed does this mean 50 over the speed limit would essentially be removed and the fines or punishment for 49 over would apply to this?

Would this also mean 4 demerit points for the 30 to 49 over would now apply for 50 over?

I believe there are fines for up to 59 over. 60 over automatically got you an appointment with the robed ...

Re: Driver clocked at 250 km/h

F/A-18 fighter pilots can do mach 1.8 (1900km/h) while processing many different factors from their telemetry equipment, radio, weapons systems, and the environment.

Not downplaying your points but jet pilots don't have to worry about hitting an animal 3/4 the size of some cars, moose in northern Ontario ring a bell. I do agree with the fact ...
