Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers

Yes, the lidar specifically tells the operator it is being jammed. (ie. on target, pull trigger, gets jammed, lidar tells operator it is being jammed, therefore operator also knows which vehicle has the jammer)

I do not see the Marksman being pulled out of use for a few more years, until there is a budget for replacement. My office has 1 Marksman ...

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers

Lowest rate of drunk driving in North America.

And the penalties just went up as far as 12 hour suspension becomes 3 days. Why if we are responsible in the first place?

And yes the vast majority of Ontarians drive on the 4-series of highways so why did my driving test not include it?? That was 16 years ago but still

Yep. No effort by the gov't to give people the tools and resources to be better drivers (better education); just more restrictions, banning and draconian laws.

I'd offer to bend over for Fantino but he'll just shove it in there anyway. Might as well make him earn the paycheck. So again, why do we, Ontario, have the safest roads in North America ...

I just kept going in the far right lane, didn't have to change lanes once, and I had unrestricted visibility because everyone else thought the right lane was some sort of sacred ground, never to be driven on. Shocked

That there lane is for big trucks, school buses and winobego's. All pray to the mighty gas gulping R/V's

Re: 151Km/hr in Montreal - Ontario Resident

Last time I checked you can be tried only once and then you serve the sentence/pay the fine in the jurisdiction you are in. 'Bear would know better but I would say that all offense information would be listed for the officer to see. So if you broke Ontario laws the OHTA section would apply and be listed. If you broke Quebec law their section would ...

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers

Reflections you get around. I heard the 407 is very fast. I have never been on it at all rarely but i heard in some places they have 4-6 lanes in one direction and the flow of traffic can get well over 140.

Define "flow". One or two vehicles doing 140 while everyone else does 120 does not mean the "flow" is 140. I've been in clumps on the 407 ...

So, make as many notes as you can and write them down....... you don't seem to a problem there.....those sure are long posts... :D .....If pictures will help you take some from a safe point.

The last ticket I got the officer mentioned that I was "noticably faster then the flow", so I see your point of view, is the limit a number or flow?? Don't ...

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers

See here is another video with a guy testing spectre 4 vs STi Driver.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAYmbd9bLoE&NR=1

In this one he can not detect it.

These videos confuse me.

So is it the Spectre 4+ now that can get all them?

What 'Bear is refering to is that just b/c the spectre cannot detect the devices does not mean that the officer ...

"Gentle flow of traffic"??!?? In the GTA it starts out with "every man for himself" until they see the cruiser, then it's "Oh please let it be the other guy!"

But I do like your imagery. Next time I go to my "happy place" I'll picture the gentle flow of traffic, like a babbling brook in a pristine amazon forest. The sound of blue and orange ...

Car Vs. Tractortrailer....... No brainer, so is a U-turn in front of a truck. There are many causes of accidents, speed can be one of them, however it's not the only one. I wonder how much of a decrease we would have if we trained young drivers properly????

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers

There have been many murder convictions without the actual "knife/gun" being located with all the evidence to support the charge. So back to my original, do not need to find the SMWD to support the charge and there is lots of evidence to be had.

My wife struggled to believe me when I said three cars WILL fit side-by-side on most two-lane highways. In an emergency, three competent drivers could easily avoid a head-on collision if they realized this important fact.

Back in my young and bullet proof days I saw that happen, but it was three car in the same direction........now where is that ...

Re: 110 in a 80km while passing?

It would depend on which radar unit the officer had and what mode it was in

Correct me if I'm wrong but newer units have a "fastest" speed mode where it will display the fastest reading.....

However if the unit reads and displays all speeds and there was more then 2 cars on the road the information would then be null and void........
