Today i got caught doing 115 in a 90 at Mayfield and 410 and what I have been reading is that this offence is 3 points. Seeing this is my first offence I'm unsure if the ticket is supposed to I lost 3 points or is that just automatic. Also should I go to fight it to drop the points and just pay the fine???
Also with being my first offence is there any kind of leverage with that because the officer didn't even reduce it?

Where's mayfield?

When you file the ticket with "not guilty", the time "stops" until the court date.

You "collect" points, not lose them. 9 would "award" you an interview with the MTO regarding your driving record. Points come off your record after 2 years of date of offence.

You are right that you should not primarily concern yourself with fine, because it is the insurance increase over the 3 years that will affect you most. Mind you, even a 15-over, which carries no points, can still increase your premiums, although likely by not more than about $200 per year, and be counted as a separate offence by your insurance company.

You need to try to beat this case on technicality of some sort. Exact fine, if wrong, might be a way to beat it!

Mayfield road is in north Brampton. Ok then is there anyway to get rid of the points? Because with them my insurance will go up even more right?

I can't believe you got a ticket for 115 there. I drive that route everyday and flow is always at that clip. What time of day was it?

It was 11:15 in the morning. There was like four or five cop cars just pulling over everyone and I was just going with the flow there were actually people going faster then I was.

I can't believe it either. Good grief... every time I go up to Caledon the flow is at least 115+ through there...

Sound like a "trap" to me. The limit goes from 100-90-80 while still on a controlled access divided highway.

When the 410 was extended to Mayfield, the officers liked to sit at the end waiting. This was when the limits went from 100-80-60. This also co-incided with the S.172 implementation.....

Now though, the 410 continues past Mayfield to Hwy 10. The reduction to 90 is not needed, although someone in the government will have a "justification" for it.

Anyhow, tick off option 3 and file for disclosure.....and wait.........wait.........wait..............soon now.......

So then what should I do fight and say what I'm only eight teen it's unfortunate that my insurance is going up and I guess there nothing I can do now and I have accepted that but I kind of think that it is quite ridiculous that I could see the 100 Km/h sign when I was pulled over the main thing is I don't want to get the points. So what should I do????

You should obtain an independed legal advise to become familiar with the allegation against you. There may be issues worth arguing.

Traffic Law has a point. If you don't feel comfortable fighting this ticket yourself, seek some representation. Unfortunately, you have received a ticket and the only way to challenge it is in court.
