Re: Careless Driving WTF I couldn't have been any more Caref
The closer you are to the car in front, the less time you have to stop.(old rule was 1 car length per 16 KPH).
IMHO you were careless.
I hate drivers like you that tailgate.
That said you will most likely be offered a lower charge at ER or trial.

Re: Parking in fire route
I mentioned there 3 minute rule. The ticket guy would hide in either the doorway or the bushes. I read the ticket it said
he observed me there for over 3 minutes. Markham had a maybe rule to reduce the price. It was a pain all the
phone calls and such.
The did offer a lower price .

Re: Payment Plan help....
I will try again. Read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just attend a court office and ask them if you owe any money.
Once they produce the paper ask to talk to JP
Now you have the paperwork that the JP needs
Once you get to the JP you make a deal.
Again if you make a deal stick to it .

Re: Payment Plan help....
I need some help or information. I owe a lot in unpaid fines, and really want to pay them off asap. I called my local city hall this morning about my fines, and asked if I could get on some kind of payment plan. She told me that since I am under suspension I won't be able too, I can't afford to pay the whole amount up front its a lot of money. So ...

Re: No radar in sight - Should the officer have shown me?
No, there is no rule in Ontario that says the police have to show you the radar gun. Some police officers will show it to you as a courtesy but they don't have to, so the fact that she didn't in this case won't help you in court.
The poster says he never saw a radar gun?
I wonder about that, How can speed be determined.
I know the cops hide but ...

Re: Need Direction about getting license back
What you do is go to the court with a game plan to pay the fines.
You tell the clerk that you would like to speak to a J.P..
When you get in the room with the J.P. you explain how you will pay the fine.
(post dated cheques are good).
Then explain that you have brought an amount of cash to start it off.
Tell your story and wait for the answer ...

I used to have a very fast car and an even faster bike.(with a lead foot/wrist)
One time (on the bike) I was going so fast that they only caught me because I stopped at a yellow light.
They didn't catch up, to me, until, just as the light changed to green.
I stopped and the cop said he was going 120 mph and that I was pulling away.

Re: How do I "swear an affidavit"?
Yes, typically this would be by affidavit evidence. It could also be by oral testimony.
Thank you. I would like to learn more about affidavit evidence.
How do I go about obtaining affidavit evidence?
I did this several times lately.
It really means squat.
But it is a history that you swore to the facts.
