Well someone going that speed on the 401 really should not be on it and should have taken another road. I would just drive by what can you. You could call *OPP but i would only call that for very dangerous situations. Sometimes i will just flash my lights but they get mad.
There has been a few times where people are driving with all lights off ...

Re: 4 Tickets, $440, And NEED ADVICE
Interesting with the lights.
We had a discussion about HID's before.
All i think was said was headlights must emit white light.
I guess it depends on the officer but some of those people with weird color lights (purple, pure yellow, green, etc) are very annoying and distracting.
Or those that use HID's in a reflector system!

I see lots of newer looking cars that have white rear turn signal lights.
How do they pass the D.O.T.
Mostly I just avoid these cars as best as I can.

How would you deal with this?
I always take a look at the big picture around me and this what I saw.
Today going west on the 401 just before the Brock street entrance ramp.
(right across from the OPP.)
I see a car entering the ramp with it's signal on to merge it is going about 60 km.
Then it slows down and stops at the henry street bridge.(still about 1/4 mile of lane to get ...

Re: Turn right on red against green arrow indication
Was the intent of "proceed only in the direction of the arrow" not written in there to prevent drivers from seeing the arrow but proceeding straight through, "disobeying the arrow," so to speak?
I was more thinking along the lines of 3 lanes each direction (one being a left turn lane).....left turn green arrow comes on for both (say NB and SB ...

Re: Early Morning Photo OPP B&W
Early morning sunrise and t-storm to the south.
Right place, right time and a clean car!!
If you look close enough, beside the drivers' side "A" pillar you will see a white circle = front antenna of Genesis radar......plus look above the dash pad...there is the Spectre RDD.

Re: Pulling over a group of bikes
Ya i have seen a guy try to run once about 2 years ago.
I guess he was on the 407 and going a little to fast it was pretty nice weather and hot outside he must have been going a bit over 150 and wanted to take the risk.
I saw the cop and i dont think he saw her until she had her lights on then she was way behind about 10-20 cars and he stalled ...

Re: Power and Status
Yes, your correct. Once I receive disclosure and obtain the name of the witness who took this aggressive pursuit against me, I will formalize a complaint to the OPP for his own careless driving behaviour.
And how else would you suggest a police officer catch any vehicle without being aggressive?
What you might think is aggressive could be ...

I have to think an incident report should be available to you.
Go to the court and see how to get it.
They will want some money but hopefully not to much.

Just surfing Canlii and came across two recent decisions.
R. v. Brown, 2009 ONCJ 6
R. v. Sgotto, 2009 ONCJ 48
Some people had argued that s.172 violated the Charter because it was an absolute liability charge with the possibility of imprisonment contrary to the Supreme Court's interpretation in R. v. Sault Ste Marie and B.C. Motor Vehicle ...

Re: Insurance Issues...
The problem is that the insurance companies don't really care about ending fraud. The more claims there are the more money they can make. Let's say they're regulated to a 10% profit margin on premiums.. So if there's 50b in claims, they can make 5b in profit. If there's 150b in claims, they can make 15b in profit. That's why they are also willing ...

Re: Research help needed - motorcycle passengers
I am doing some independent research on Bill 117 and heard that there already is a piece of legislation where a motorcycle passenger has to be able to reach the pegs. A search of the HTA yielded no results for me. Does anyone know the specific act/section in question?
I would go with common sense.
