Re: speeding Ticket recieved at home
Just to add to what Bear & Reflections said... the US is big on "jurisdiction." People get out of tickets down there because Officer So-and-So "didn't have jurisdiction." Because of watching American TV shows, a lot of Canadians get the idea that the officer has to have "jurisdiction" here. Such is not the case.

Re: speeding Ticket recieved at home
I believe jurisdiction is more of a court thing. A cop has been writing
Tickets in Toronto all day then catches one in Vaughn he may write the city of Toronto.(on the ticket)
The court jurisdiction then comes into it.
He might have 99 tickets for Toronto and 1 for Vaughn.
I am not sure how the jurisdiction's are divvied up now but I am sure ...

Re: insufficient data on speeding ticket.
There must still be some kind of jurisdiction needed?(no?)
OPP can arrest/enforce anywhere in Ontario, no questions...... i.e. the officer in the traffic plane, he flies over the 401, 400 and 11.......and has to testify in all the regions. Local officers, i.e. Toronto Police, have never bothered me on a 4-series highway.
Now if you do ...

Re: Shady business at court lately
If you are gonna start a business like that your "word" will have to stand for something.
The cop just wanted to come in for his over-time the DA wanted the simple plea with lower price. That is why your name was called at that time.
You messed them up.
If you live in the area of where you got the ticket expect more!!!
It is legal to do that but ...

It worked for me but this was about 20 years ago.
You are so 1900's....... :D
Next thing you know you'll wanna duel with pistols at 10 paces..... :D

I had quite a few tickets back then and most of the things I learned were in court.
Way back then if you were pleading not-guilty ...

Just using common sense
I think that where-ever the arrow is is where the 1-way starts.
Every other street I have checked in toronto seems to be like that.

Re: H.I.D. Headlight Conversion Kits...
Hi there everyone,
I have been a frequent visitor of this site for a while now but I just made an account today to ask a question that I have gotten no real clear cut answer on in the past.
What I'm talking about here is H.I.D. (High Intensity Discharge) Headlight Conversion Kits. For those of you who don't know what they are all about you can ...

My camera resets the date every time I re-charge the batteries.
Try to re-take your pictures. Also, since you probably have an old(ish) camera, replace the dead button cell battery. Most cameras have a small button cell battery (usually a 1216 or similar size) that keeps the clock "ticking". Try to locate that.
I tried again with the correct ...

Re: collision with police car!
I'm pretty sure as long as you don't file a claim and weren't charged with anything, your rates won't be affected (even if you inform your insurance company). Our oldest boy had a wreck a while back. We called insurance for advice. THEY suggested paying the damages in cash to avoid an insurance increase. So even though they KNOW he had a wreck ...

I think your first language is other then English.
This is still a guess.
You turned left and knocked a wheelchair person over.
You have to honk so they can hear you coming.
This is corney but true.
Get a louder horn.

Hello All,
Yesterday I found your site and it looks pretty good. I'm looking for some more input about my ticket. I received advice from a policeman and one paralegal to plea guilty of improper left turn. What do you think? Here's unusual situation:
I'm going North at 4-way intersection with 2 lights (East & West) and 2 stop signs (North & South ...
