What does charter defence mean? Any idea what a good excuse for a delay?
Any help will be much appreciated as the schedule for this was on Oct. 9/09.
THanks!

Re: Allen road and Eglinton Ave. - No right turn on Red Ligh
.....The next day I drove down the same route to check all the signs and did not see any signs stating no right turn on a red light. The only sign was right at the crosswalk stating "Stop Here on Red Signal". ..... Thank you.

The sign is there and it's on the post and on right side of the road.
I think it's black english letter on white background, that's why i was thinkink of bilingual defence.

It looks like a case where your wife words against the cop's words, the JP will decide who is to beleive after hearing both stories, if your wife takes the stand and stay firm, who knows she can convince the JP.
But trial is the last thing you want. I understand you already got disclosure, did you explore other option like charter defence,? or ask ...

Re: Allen road and Eglinton Ave. - No right turn on Red Ligh
Hi all, first time here, any help would be appreciated. Several days ago I was traveling southbound on Allen road and when I reached Eglinton Ave. I stopped at the crosswalk, I waited for two pedestrians to cross and three busses pulling out of the subway station going westbound. I then checked to make sure there were no other pedestrians crossing ...

Server messes with the coffee, point it out to him, he will politely say "i am sorry sir, i'll fix one up right away for you sir, and it's free". Problem solved.

When people wearing guns and badges made mistakes, look at what happened to the very citizen that they sworn to protect and serve.
The alleged offender has to scramble to fix the cop's mistake, what kind of a legal system is this?
The cop should be fired or the ticket should be quashed on the spot.

The ticket for no sticker can be dropped as soon as you show the proof of sticker purchase. However compounding it with other tickets makes things more complicated.
It looks to me the cop did not have a clock on you, he knew you were speedy but he had no scientific evidence.

It looks like the collision involved 3 parties (as i understand from your thread), all parties and the cop have to be at the trial or case is dismissed. Your chance of the case being dropped is great.

Someone had similar case and he said, on the trial date, you show up in court, the cop show up in court and the lady you rearended doesnot showup, case is dismissed.
I think it's a very good chance that the lady won't show since you admitted your fault and she got her car fixed without deductible.

i had 2 tickets like that in the past couple years, one was against the by-law, the other was against HTA. i filled out the forms to contest the charges but did not ask for disclosure or anything like that.
At the court dates, they dropped the charges although cops were there.
To today i still can't figure out why they dropped the charges. It seems ...

The HTA is different than the Criminal Code in that under the HTA, the Crown can accept your offer to change the offense to an unrelated offense. The JP doesn't have to accept this "deal", but he likely will if it's clear that both you AND the prosecutor are in agreement.
I'd propose a change to Improper Muffler or some other non-moving violation ...

Most likely this type of ticket was issued because you didn't come to a COMPLETE stop at the stop sign. All the officer really has to do is say he witnessed the act. Good luck fighting this in court. Just try a plea bargain IMO.
