Re: Prosecutor mentality re deals, I don't get it, enlighten
Well I don't think that is "it", in the last courthouse I was in I sat near the front on purpose to see what was being offered, and it did not matter what the person did, they were ALL being offered "Disobey Sign", and the people had a wide variety of charges where some were not related or did not fit the mold as you put it, running a red light ...

Prosecutor mentality re deals, I don't get it, enlighten me
So unfortunately I have had a few tickets in the last 5 or 6 years. Thankfully Ticketcombat saved me from one or two.
Here is what I don't get though. On your first appearance, the Crown will usually offer most people a deal, ok great. Its usually a reduced fine, and often times a lesser charge with less points, ok great for people that just want ...

Their testing is much more comprehensive and expensive, I have family in Switzerland who spent ~$3000CAD just to get on the road. They have mandatory 25hrs in-class theory, and minimum of 50hrs instructed driving; road-test includes: night, autobahn, in-town and other emergency scenarios (ie. changing your tire).

I guess that is exactly where things stand then, one big grey area for now, and a cr*p shoot, damn I am torn on this.
Very interesting case that last one thanks for posting. The fact that the ticket was changed without the defendant present alone should have got the appeal granted, as I am quite sure that is against the rules, and it looks like ...

Re: HTA cited incorrectly, fatal error? pic attached help AS
Does anyone know whether or not the HTA being cited incorrectly IS actually a fatal error?
As I mentioned in the OP, it seems very grey, and I think I seen cases go either way, so it would be interesting to know what the actual law is regarding this
Thanks again

HTA cited incorrectly, fatal error? pic attached help ASAP
This seems like a slightly grey area so I decided to challenge the ticket for now instead of completely ignoring it, in order to give me a little more time to decide and get advice on if this will be seen as a fatal error or not.

Re: Ticketed for Checking Time on Cellphone
Jeez I see the reasoning here but at the same time it seems harsh too.
What about the person using their GPS on the cellphone, I guess they are screwed too? (if caught holding it I guess) I wonder if the phone is in a "holder" and being used as GPS if this is okay? (technically you can still text/talk on it when in holder so it does seem "gray ...

Very close to an 11b actually, under the new guidelines, my court date will be 10 months and 25 days from the offense date, which I understand might have even been considered but I did not realize this until now, so don't have 15 days before court to file for it.

Date of offence and date of conviction are on the abstracts that I look at in court. Can't say about the ones that the insurance company may get. As for demerit points though (insurance companies really don't care about them) they come off after 2 years from the date of offence.

Not saying I disagree about the vehicle impoundment, but the initial 7 day suspension should NOT impact your insurance rates.

An administrative lapse or a suspension of a drivers licence is a documented drivers licence lapse for administrative or medical reasons that are not ...

The first thing you need to do is do what you need to and get the disclosure, and a copy of officers written notes, etc. Go to Ticket Combat and follow the steps, there is even a form you can download and fill out to help you get what you need.

I'm just going to update this thread since someone sent me a message about it. I went to the Crown, on my own, and by what the Crown said to me that was a good choice. They offered me a deal without me really saying anything, and it was pretty decent considering what the damn officer had charged me with (3 charges in total, 2 major). I tried to let ...

So I've read somewhere that "threatening" them would be pretty foolish, makes sense to me. Probably Ticket Combat, great site that.

AND THAT explains the insurance quote I just got for such a car, which was more than even an Infiniti, convertible Eclipse, etc etc.
Even the older Supercharged ones were nothing to spit at, no 260 but still decent.
Apparently your theory is correct, and Insurance companies have acted on it.

Awesome thanks Stanton.
I'll bet companies, some knowingly, some probably not, are charging you for these Suspensions (certainty shows up in quotes I just did) even though they are not supposed to according to that Bulletin hoping the average person doesn't know better, which likely they don't

Stunt Suspension affecting insurance if you get off?
I know I seen this somewhere in the forum but can't find it. I'd like to clarify two things:

2. In the above case, Insurance companies still ask you if your ...

which falls squarely under the "Racing" definition and is not mentioned in the Stunt definition ...
