Re: Parking ticket in Montreal - no signs posted

$52 seems to be steep fine for a private parking infraction

i'd just ignore it, municipalities don't have access to out-of-province information; the QC ticket won't affect your ON plate renewal

i would wait and see if you get a letter of impending conviction in the mail

if you do park there in the future, and they have a log of your ON Plate ...

Re: Is this a fire route?

what if the yellow lines are there to deter vehicles from parking there as well?

i would check to see if that strip is a designated fire route, by looking at that city's by-law

ex: http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/municode/1184_880.pdf

i worked at 103 The Queensway, and they have Fire Route signs erected in many places but MLEOs couldn't issue the ...

Re: failure to surrender insurance card

so if insurance company sends new pink slips before the renewal date, but instead of renewing you cancel

keep the slips, what does the insurance company do? do they tell the MTO to flag the plate/VIN?

what does the term plates unattached mean?

what do LEO see when they punch in the plate in their mobile database? can they see if it's insured or ...

Re: Internet has it's Dis-Advantages

If anything, they should raise the limit on the 407. One other statistic: Raising the speed limit has been shown to cause a marked drop in the 99th percentile speed. That means that the people who were going the absolute fastest... actually slowed down.

I'm of the opinion that the unspoken speed limit on the 407 is 150 km/h, as I've done upwards ...

there are plenty of other sites too: http://trapster.com/rl/Trapster.php

i believe there is even an app, so if you have a mount for your iPhone ... voila, you have some locations

Re: Fail to Obey Stop sign: first ticket, help?

B) When does the 11b timer start?
from the time I got the ticket, or the first attendance meeting? a good question

during my trial on Dec 2011 the JP ruled that the date i filed my tickets at the courts was the day i formed my intentions to go to trial, and therefore that's when the 11b clock starts, and the first attendance meeting was merely ...

Re: Strange incident in Montreal Quebec

i actually saw this the other day on the 410 South just getting off the 407 Eastbound at around 1600hrs, unmarked OPP Tahoe tailgating vehicles on the passing lane

like i mean ... driving half the cruiser on the shoulder ... classic case of tailgating, i saw the bulbs on his side-mirrors, long RCA cable + there was OPP printed on the side but it ...

Re: What to do if you witness an HTA infraction

I don't find this story to be other-worldly, i've seen a lot of road rage in my time, especially when I took the bus ... i still remember it clear as day, a purple 4-door sedan came infront our bus and just started brake checking to the point the driver was forced to make a hard stop, which ejected several people from their seats

I see a lot of ...

i believe that 45 days is what the crown calls, "intake period"

you can read about it in R v. Andrade: http://www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com/topic3881.html

Re: Disobey Sign & Insurance Card

i don't see how the bilingual defence could work in your favour, how does the 'bicycle excepted' part relate to your charge?

the crown "might" drop the insurance card for a guilty plea to an alt. HTA charge which carries no demerit points

however, i'd also do some research on alternative by-law offences which you could plead to, rather than the ...
