BTW was your friend going Northbound on Brimley Rd? Streetview: http://goo.gl/zq6uOZ
IMO there would be no jurisdiction issue there, it's all City of Toronto for at least a 2km radius. Lets just say that 50 km/hr sign was not there, the Highway Traffic Act would default the speed limit to 50 km/hr anyway.

Re: Parking Ticket
Normally if there are fatal errors on the ticket, the clerk at the ticket office will cancel them. When the building owner went through MLEO training, they were instructed to initial corrections.
If it does go to trial, keep in mind that the Provincial Offences Act allows the courts to amend the ticket.

You were very lucky not to get charged with Stunt Driving (HTA S172).

Scenario 2 - Ok

Re: Re: HTA 144(18) RED LIGHT - FAIL TO STOP and DISCLOSURE
(1) will the case be dismissed if i stand in trial without receiving the disclosure. You should not proceed to trial without receiving disclosure; this is why the courts have "pre-trial" motions, this is where you tell the justice of peace you have not received disclosure; the prosecutor will have to provide a response as to why they've failed to ...

Re: Help: Forgot a step while filing an 11b
You should go back, and re-submit it; tell them you were there the previous day... they will most likely go and get your 11b application and add your affidavits of service.
It wouldn't hurt to add the offence number and the date/time/location of your trial date. Just make sure that you have your copy stamped 'received'.

Re: Lesser Offence to Disobey Sign?
Maybe you can describe exactly where and what the sign was?
Disobey Sign is very generic charge, all the enforceable signs erected on the road are protected by it. ie: Speed Limit, HOV, Do Not Park, etc. Depending on what the sign read, and where you did it... there may be a lot of other 0-point charges to choose from.

Another question: does an officer serving under 11 Division have authority to set up a speed trap in 12 Division's neighbourhood boundaries?
Is the officer still within his jurisdiction if he's operating a speed trap outside of his 11 Division neighbourhood boundaries, but still within the city? http://www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com/topic1083 ...

is it still required under case law that there is documentation that the unit was tested after being pulled over? you'd think the officer would just say he did test the unit afterwards and that would be the end of it then, even though the notes did not mention any testing afterwards? http://www.ontariohighwaytrafficact.com/topic1909-15.html#p30553 ...

Re: Considered at fault?
The other driver is 100% at-fault for the collision if he tried changing lanes. You should inform your insurance company of the accident, and describe exactly how it happened.
Police don't necessarily assign fault for collisions, they're already pre-determined through 'Fault Determination Rules' under the Insurance Act.
