b/c there are no reporting centres in my area, where does the 48hrs come from? I have not found this timeline anywhere in the HTA. Thought it was still soon as practicable as a collision reporting centre was to free up traffic from unnecessary blockages by damaged vehicles?

Re: PLATE QUESTION

There are a few stipulations for doing so:
- you can no longer own the vehicle the plates were on (I would keep a copy of bill of sale to other person with me)....what happens if they do not register your previous vehicle
- the plates must go on a similar class of vehicle (car to car, truck to truck)
- used vehicle plates going onto must have a ...

Re: Ticket for improper right turn, he said "you might be l

Thanks for pointing out the 4 signs but I don't agree with you that the posted signs are for Hwy exiting traffic. The two one way arrows are for the Eglinton east and westbound drivers, so that the don't enter the exit ramp - that's the use of one way signs.
In the google map you can see "proper" no-turn signs on the light posts for the Eglinton ...

Re: Ticket for improper right turn, he said "you might be l

Just google mapped this intersection....there is painted arrows on 2 lanes to go left, and the other lane arrow painted to go right x 2. PLUS there is a sign posted with the same lane indicators as the painted arrows x 2. Totalling 4 notifications per lane indicating specifically a left or right turn.

Re: got hit by truck, he was making left turn

Which way was the truck and other car were going in relation to your vehicle? (If you could explain it such as you were headed north, truck was headed south turning east) Plus add on the interserction, a lot of posters use google to see the intersection to understand the layout to assist you.

thanks

If they had left a note, would hardly think a fail to remain is appropriate. How long would one wait for an owner to come back to a parked car?

even if the other vehicle was travelling 80km in a 50km zone, the vehicle without the stop sign still has the right of way...just sayin'

Re: 2nd summon, could some one explain....

Police do not need permission to serve another person at the same residence or place of work. It is just a different box on the back of the summons to check off.

Re: failed tosurrender vehicle permit ticket

The dealer would not have the whole permit attached/behind the plate. The portion with the plate would be the "plate permit", which is 1/2 the ownership required to produce to police. The other 1/2 is the vehicle permit.

Everytime you use/borrow any vehicle/trailer that is not yours ask for the complete permit. A photocopy will suffice.

don't think there is brake lights on in original as there is no idiot light activated (third upper light so idiots don't rear end you). All I see is regular tail lights

Re: HTA172 and police conduct

Sheesh, had to read the whole post to find out what the thread was about.

I don't think saying you were unaware of the speed, would make a person unreliable. When I drove to work today, I can not tell you what speed I was driving....I'll guess from 40-60km/hr in a 50 & 60 zone as I always travel in that variable. Unless stopped at the time or told ...

Re: Question about accuracy of Aerial Surveillance in Court

I would say even with what da 'bear gives us is there should be some margin of error given on these tickets, more so then radar/lidar/pacing.

there is already margin given....
Now the benefit to the driver is:
1) that every speed is always rounded down and the speed is an average over a complete 500m.
2) the speed is an average over 500m ...

Re: Question about accuracy of Aerial Surveillance in Court

Also, to calculate speed over 500m, simply divide 1800 by the time (500m x 3600 seconds/hr divided by 1km/1000m). So say for example, you time a car going 12.4 seconds between hash marks. That car is travelling at 145km/h.

Now, some will say if the average human reaction time is .3 seconds, then that could be as little as 12.1 sec. (148.7km/hr ...
