Re: "Road closed - Local traffic only"

every time i have heard "local traffic" are those that actually reside within the boundaries of that restricted area, or use a business within that area.

It also helps to keep vehicles out of the are as Staton mentions to enable construction to be completed faster

Re: Escalating Sanctions -- Avoiding suspension

It is by offence date and class of licence at that time. So stop was on a G2, the G will be suspended for 30 days.

read carefully - sec 10(6) ..if it is a 3rd time for a 4 point offence the licence will not be "cancelled" (which would be for a G2) but the G licence will be "suspended" for 90 days

Re: charged with improper motorcycle exhaust, is that legal?

that is the problem between a obtaining a safety for the vehicle (which ensures that the vehicle is safe for the road) as compared to what is legal for the road

HTA OREG 611 (safety requirement)
The exhaust pipe, muffler and tail pipe shall be complete and securely mounted.
No component of the exhaust system shall be so located as to cause ...

Re: Wrong last name on ticket

Even if a conviction was somehow entered based on the ticket, you could easily have a JP examine it and quash the conviction since charges against minors can't proceed by regular offence notice.
throwing this out here ...but if the surname is totally different, no DL # to track, upon conviction on the face of a ticket a generated mto licence will ...

Re: 2 tickets, one of them has a mistake...

direction of parking makes a lot of sense for a couple reasons
- tail lights of vehicles are reflective, so people can see the vehicle when parked when approaching
- to pull back out into traffic, one needs to see down the street, can use mirrors to check as pulling out if parked proper direction, can not see past other vehicles when completely ...

Re: seat belt exemption rule

Also the officer was listening the radio on his motor bike and did not turn it off while i was talking to him about my ticket.
i would not expect any officer to turn off their source of communication, that is their lifeline. When dispatch checks on the officer and he/she doesnt respond, can guarantee many units are on high priority response to ...

Re: Speeding - 99km in an 80km zone

I was driving, and I seen an officer driving behind a couple of oncoming cars. I looked down at my speed , and seen that I was doing slightly over 100 (ie 102/103), so I put on the brake lightly to slow down. About 30 seconds after the officer had passed me he did a U-turn and followed me for about a minute before pulling me over.

When he came up ...

Re: Suspended License: Over 13 Years, how do I fix my mess?

stop into the closest licencing bureau and ask. Then you will be faced with 2 choices:
- yes, there is outstanding fees, go to closest court house and find out how to start making payments
- no, apply for your G1 and M1 licence

Re: Police orders to drive vehicle to another location. Lega

think the wording in 82(2) is very clear in..."move the vehicle to a safe location as directed by the police officer", anything other than directed would be disobey an officer.

Sounds like the above is a target of unsafe vehicle day, where the safe location are set up well in advance with whatever parking lot that is going to be used for ...

Re: E-Bikes and the HTA

Once again we're comparing a scooter style e-bike to a normal bicycle. The two don't primarily operate the same way therefore should not be compared to each other.

No, we (or at least me) are comparing it a limited speed motorcycle. I agree it's definitely not a bicycle, hence why it shouldn't be treated as one. I'm not really hearing any reason ...

sheesh make it simple.......
- if it does not have a motor it is a bicycle and needs nothing other than regular bicycle stuff
- if it has a motor it is a motorcycle
plain and simple, no confusion

Re: E-Bikes and the HTA

Without comparing it to ANY other vehicles. Can anyone provide a logical reason why the scooter style e-bike should require pedals on them?.

They're supposed be a muscular powered vehicle, hence the exemptions that are granted for them. If you're not using muscle power to propel them, how are they any different then a limited speed motorcycle ...

Must come to a complete stop for flashing red lights at railroad tracks. May proceed to cross track(s) once you have stopped, obviously if save to do so
Flashing lights with gate - can not go thru at all
