Re: Fail to obey stop sign sec. 136(1)(a)

My advice is that you do not respond to the ticket at all and file an appeal within 15 days of receiving the conviction notice. You will then argue that (a) the ticket was defective on its face for not being in both languages and (b) there is no stop sign at this location.

Other that the (short form wording) the complete offence notice is ...

Brilliant, quicker to write tickets!! Plus no writers cramp! WooHoo!!

My name and signature would not change!

The only thing that would happen is NO reading at all if two targets were to happen to get in the beam.

Re: lift laws, bumper height laws, headlight height laws

Might want to check the clearance heights under bridges :D

OREG 597 deals with Commercial Motor Vehicles

Safety Standards are at OREG 611.

Also check the manufacturer's GVWR (white plate type thing inside the driver's door) Gives the vehicle weight and MAXIMUM GVWR. Might need to get the truck weighed so you know. Then you have a new empty ...

FYI, we do not give complete notes for our whole shift. Only applicable notes for the incident in question

Absolutely, very easy to do obtain all speeds on all 3 vehicles.

Re: Disclosure questions

If said accident report was filled 6 months after the fact and is full of discrepancies with the one given by the cop at the scene, can I use that fact to my advantage and how?.

A few issues here. By HTA police have to submit the Collision Report within 10 days. Our internal policy is 7 days.

In 12yrs, I have never ever seen a Collision Report ...

Re: Definition of "lane" for 142(1)

More or less. Cop's notes say I "cut the corner". Interesting since he arrived an hour after the fact..

Does not really matter how long after that the police arrive. Once arriving the officer will begin by talking to drivers, looking at physical evidence etc and try to determine what heppened. Then mandatory to complete a "Traffic Collision ...

Re: Definition of "lane" for 142(1)

I would be guess that HTA 148 applies to the description provided.

Passing meeting vehicles - vehicle on highway meeting another shall turn out to the right from centre of roadway, allowing the other vehicle one-half of the roadway

Re: Zero Tolerance for 1st 5 years of driving...

This is too complicated. No need to re-invent the wheel.

Just make it simple...We already have the following conditions:
G1 = zero alcohol
G2 - zero alcohol
Just add that a "G" driver must be a minimum of 19yrs of age.

G1/G2 already have lower demerit point levels, which multiple tickets will take care of a suspension for demerit points.

Bottomline; it would save eveyone money and time if cops would just stop laying stupid tickets.
Got that right, I'd rather be in Tim Hortons with my Cafe Mocha and Boston Cream..
