Re: Stopping two cars

[*]The fixed distance test - is there an alignment mark on the unit so that it measures precisely where the pulse is emitted from. If the tester has his foot on the line, he could be leaning forward or back (not perfectly vertical). How do you compensate for this? Is the unit placed on a fixed stand?[/list]

Our fixed distance is done at the ...

Re: Fail to obey stop sign sec. 136(1)(a)

A few questions, If i request for disclosure, wouldn't the cop know that I'm challenging him (which would upset him because i'm trying to discredit him) and he would definitly show up in court for that date?

A vast majority of our court is on working days, so we will be there.

I know most officers do not care that people go to trial. I would ...

Are they teaching the "right-side" approach at the OPC now? I noticed the officer did that in the video.
Not sure what they teach at OPC....it was many moons ago that I was there. I have a higher chance of being hit by a rubbernecker, so I use the passenger side 95% of the time at least some protection

Re: Definition of "lane" for 142(1)

The interesting part is that the "Traffic Collision Report" I got on the spot (with the ticket) has quite a number of differences from the copy I got in the disclosure. That one was dated 6 months after the fact..

The roadside copy is just basic info to share amongst drivers, the submitted copy has diagrams, check boxes on the side, supervisor ...

Re: Failure to submit permit? What's required in car re: permit?

Sounds like waaaaayyyyy too much going on with the stop and mixmatched charges.

The section that deals with permits is HTA 7

HTA 7(5)(a)
- the permit (ownership or for US people "title")for a motor vehicle must be surrendered upon demand to a police officer (or true photocopy of permit)

Still baffles me as to why (other than a company with ...

Copy that....(pardon the pun)

I treat every stop like I am recorded, not only audio, but video as well. Never has been a problem. Why risk getting a complaint? Simply not worth it.

Ok, so the arguement is still the same is it not, the requirements on a PON. Where the SCC has already made a ruling on this type of issue.

Re: Fail to obey stop sign sec. 136(1)(a)

The video is also important, if the cop is telling the truth about it. But since you know you stopped, the cop is lying to you.

Not IF the video shows otherwise, then the person is lying!

The officer may have dedicated himself/herself to that particular intersection for the purpose of the stop sign enforcement. When some drivers become ...

Re: Fail to obey stop sign sec. 136(1)(a)

trick question....I found a an old township name listed/designated as a bilingual area. This township is now almalgamated into a larger municipality with a different name, therefore the olde township no longer legally exists. Does the bilingual sign thing still apply?
