Re: Charges laid in rural hit and run - dead horse

While the p/u driver should be charged with quite a bit for his involvement in the collision (and not keep his licence), horse riders should also be more considerate of other vehicles on the roads.
The way it looks to me, there was a group of horse riders spread out all over the road.
Same as a lof of inconsiderate people walking 4/5 abreast down ...

Re: Obtaining 3rd Party information

The other person probably got the same info as you. It is rare that the info is put on a "collision report" while at scene.

Generally the insurance companies of both involved contact the police that investigated the collision and obtain the collision reports. There is a small fee to get a copy of the collision report.

Re: Power and Status

Yes, your correct. Once I receive disclosure and obtain the name of the witness who took this aggressive pursuit against me, I will formalize a complaint to the OPP for his own careless driving behaviour.

And how else would you suggest a police officer catch any vehicle without being aggressive?

What you might think is aggressive could be ...

Re: 142km on 401 going west, near 401 exit to Homer Watson Blvd

Sometimes police do have to get close to vehicles and appears to be "tail gating". The reason for this is to read a licence plate. If plates are faded, dirty, obstructed by tinted plate covers, rusty, etc..... OR licence plate light is burnt out, it makes it very difficult to read, even more so at night. Once plate is called into dispatch officer ...

Devils advocate here....if this person had to aggressively chase you, seems more than speed is a factor.

tdrive2 - I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you must have just finished working 16hrs, and was up prior to work for 2hrs......b/c none of that reflects the posts prior

Should read the posts above where it is well explained and where Reflections understands

Re: Multi Officer Overpass Speed Trap Question.

No incident report is required, it is not an incident.

If you decide to challenge the offence, the notes from both officers will be submitted, simple as that. Both officers will have to attend court.

Re: Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers

There have been many murder convictions without the actual "knife/gun" being located with all the evidence to support the charge. So back to my original, do not need to find the SMWD to support the charge and there is lots of evidence to be had.

Re: Bad Drivers?

Don't paint all HSD officers with that same brush. Just b/c you see a cruiser on/near GTR does not mean it is a local car either.

OPP should be demonstrating and being ambassadors on the highways and that is the message our office goes by and I believe in.

I would suggest you go to the closet OPP office and provide the information with date, time ...
