Re: How long to lay charges?

Tell the young lad to call the investigating officer and ask. Either that no charges are being laid or the investigation is ongoing and the police are checking with the crown to see if there is enough evidence to proceed with charges.

Re: New "Taxi" Service in Halton

As for the paranoia, isn't that the point of an unmarked cruiser? To make the public think twice even if they don't see a marked cruiser nearby?

I agree that all police should have cruisers that look like everyday civilian vehicles and load them up with hidden lights.

But the adding of other company logos, signs is not right...I would think ...

Re: Insurance Issues...

.....whether one believes the speed limit is too low or not, only the driver themself can be to blame for their speed. They know the limit, they chose to break it, they got caught, so pay the piper!

If someone drives at the speed limit guess what happens, no speeding ticket, no delay at roadside. Pretty simple concept to avoid penalties and ...

Re: What to do at an intersection where the lights never change

Rather than the city officials, bring the issue to a City Councillor, actually email them all. Have your matter put on the Council meeting agenda and present you case right in chambers if the first item does not help out. I'm sure you are not the only bicycle to have this issue.

Failing that, would be to get the media imvolved and bring the ole ...

Re: Fog lights, amirite?

Here's the Jag I was talking about. I was mistaken; it wasn't a post, it was an image I found on Flickr while I was browsing through the "asshat" group.

Note the difference between the rear fog lights and the normal taillights on the Ford next to it. Taillights are normally rated for around 2 ...

Re: 110 in a 80km while passing?

Bear, are you saying that the radar gun will track the speed of two vehicles side-by-side and display the correct speed of both vehicles at the same time? yes

I'm still confused about Section 148. (1). It made perfect sense to me that an overtaken vehicle SHOULD share the responsibility of assisting a "struggling" passer to get back in safely ...

Re: Insurance Issues...

Glad to see non-moving violations do nothing.

Insurance companies are all scam artists. Ever notice your insurance rates are based on your "area"??? That is a scam in itself.

My insurance rates are based in an "area" that area happens to include the 401.....which is carnage alley......even one transport writeoff is $250k for tractor, $100k for a ...

Re: carless driving charge

If your insurance company is the same as mine, they won't care as long as you have no MTO record and they're not out of pocket any money.
Agreed!

But remember that there will be a "Collision" logged under your name on the MTO records as all collisions over $1000, property damage or injury are reportable, meaning a collision report has to be done ...

Re: Stop sign questions

IMHO if you have stopped at the required location...in this instance the stop line you have met the requirements and can proceed and do not need to stop where the dumbass in front of you has inched out 15ft. Every individual MV/MC would have to make a stop at the proper location.

One does not have to place the feet down when riding an MC to make a ...
