HTA and Criminal Code definitions for a motor vehicle are differentSquishy wrote: If it was road legal to begin with (limited to 32 km/h and whatever else the MTO requires) then it does not qualify as a motor vehicle, excluding it from Criminal Code impaired/over 80 charges as well as the HTA administrative suspension. Careless driving charges can apply.

that is what we do. We photo copy our notes and eliminate other investigations and incidents out.gotsnagged1st wrote: The disclosures provided were very chopped up, as if they are covering their notes and photocopying the portions that relate to my specific event.
All there needs to be is a test PRIOR and AFTER the offence.

Play the racism card? (The officer was white)
You have got to be kidding me, right? Try standing at the roadside and identifying the ethnic background of a driver from a distance of 200-400 metres. I'd be willing to bet that you can't.
Exactly! With the varying window tints, angle of windows, vehicle interior colour, lighting, it is even hard ...

1) the offence could be put back up to original speed
2) Do not call the officer, it is now in the hands of the prosecutor/courts
3) that is the lowest of all lows
4) direction of cruiser does not matter

Re: TPS bicycle registry
rather than create yet another useless database to justify someone's existence (create a job - rather than doing what they are supposed to), it would be way easier for anyone that has a bicycle to record the serial number down. If the bike is stolen/lost provide the police with the Make, Model, Serial number, speed, size of frame, colour. This info ...

Re: Request vehicle licencing information on private property
The truck should not have been towed.
I would have towed the vehicle to prevent the continuation of the offence . It is still uninsured off the owners property. Now the person can ask the vehicle go back to their residence.
His insurance will-not cover the other truck.Unless he called his agent and set it up.(usually they will give you 3-5 days ...

Re: Request vehicle licencing information on private property
Entrapment is the act of a law enforcement agent inducing a person to commit an offense which would be illegal and the person would otherwise have been unlikely to commit.........so unless the officer stopped by your friends home, told him to toss plates on the vehicle and drive down the road without insurance, it is not entrapment.

Re: Passing Stopped Cars at a Crossover
The kid must dismount and walk the bike through the crosswalk, which is probably why the officer did not charge you at the time. .
that would not be the reason.
Would be interviews of all witnesses. Would also wait to see the outcome of the injuries to the kid. This could be waiting for the child to be released from hospital and speaking to him ...

secondly, ive spoken to many other truckers whom have had problems at weigh stations in the United States whose licenses are expired and require to do a written test -although Ontario has extended there license.
these drivers should go to this website and print off the info...

if it is a summons with a court date...it is a must attend (and/or paralegal) on that date, can not mail it back in. Failing to attend on the date on the summons, a JP can issue an arrest warrant for you.
