this is not an "administrative licence" suspension (ADLS). It is an unpaid fine suspension. ADLS refers to 3 day, 7 day and 90 day suspensions.

Re: Licence Suspension Due to Unpaid Fines

probably all about timing....ticket in June, 15 days to respond to ticket. Then court goes thru all tickets issued and checks who has paid and who has not, then sends notice to MTO about non-payment, how far is MTO backed up in the processing of these notices? In meantime your renewed your licence.

Re: Please Help 146 KM/HR IN A 100 KM/H Zone

A "dealer" plate (white/red) or a "service plate" (yellow/black) just allows an automotive dealer/shop the ability to put a plate on a vehicle and go. As in....they do not have to get a plate properly registered onto a vehicle.

If a person gets stopped with a dealer/service plate they still must provide the ownership and proof of valid insurance ...

I would not say errors. I would say from that persons point of view.

Similiar to any collision, witness statements, will all differ, even people in the same vehicle.

Re: Are they cops or cowboys?

But I thought you said painting the cars black & white was such a great idea of JF's. Something about making a stronger visual presence out on the road. But now you say stealth is better.. Now I'm all confused again :?

We always have had unmarked vehicles.

Problem before was that the marked cars blended in with every other white, tan, light ...

Re: Are they cops or cowboys?

My point is that umarked cars aren't that visible. Police are most likely to be killed at the side of the road in a collision. Being that Police are most vunerable while parked at the side of a busy road, wouldn't it make sense to use a highly visible car?

there is a variety of takes on being stopped and visible.
- type of cruiser
- type of ...

Re: Are they cops or cowboys?

Why does the OPP have such large orders for unmarked cars
Do tell about all this ordering??

why are more and more unmarked cars being used for traffic enforcment?

We all know the people that mysteriously turn into angels when they see a marked unit and then return to their  side after.

Our office most recently got our first unmarked ...

Speed can Increase at trial - Court of Appeal

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/ottawa/story/2009/09/11/toronto-tickets-speed-ruling523.html

Ontario courts can change or "amend up" a speeding ticket if the driver decides to fight it, the province's Court of Appeal ruled Thursday.

The ruling will affect cases in which police officers opt to cut speeding drivers a break by lowering their recorded speed ...

Re: Plea for lesser charge from Driving While Under Suspension

I actually figured out the situation a little, I have a bunch of old fines on my ontario record from what it looks like, but only 1 is suspending me and the reason is, the cop wrote my ontario DL# on that ticket, and when it got convicted it automaticly put a suspension on it, but the other fines I have went straight to collection because my ...

Traffic collisions cause more deaths per year in Canada than crime.
OPP stats: for 2008
16 homicides
208 deaths in traffic collisions
Would you not want the area with the highest deaths getting the most attention?
This is an interesting statistic, however it's fairly biased. .
How can actual deaths in the same allotted time frame be biased?
