thats true, but the term "accident forgiveness" which you sometimes pay an extra premium is for at fault accidents not traffic tickets.
And also the forgiveness is ONLY for that company at renewal,
if you have AF and change companies, its not valid.
I know this because I asked around ;)
Accidents and convictions are two different things with ...

He or she has already been convicted.Sonic wrote:Step one is to ask for a trial, and review the disclosure against you.
Given the severity that this would have on your insurance and/or licensing, I would highly recommend you hire someone to fight this for you.
Even so, I'd guess that almost any professional would argue you take that deal and run.

Re: Failure To Provide Insurance Card?
You could show your valid insurance but it doesn't mean it'll necessarily go away.
You were charged with not surrendering that particular valid document when prompted. You were not charged for driving without insurance.
If it's paired with another charge, it's a lot easier to have it dropped if you plead guilty to the other. If it's the only ...

Re: on the news; license plate covers - ILLEGAL da daaaaa
People sometimes use the full clear plastic to protect the plate, especially if its a vanity plate... whats the issue?
Yellowing, oxidation, pitting, glare, etc. Some people also want to believe "clear" means tinted (black, blue, etc). The issue is a lot of times they interfere with the reading of a plate, whether by an officer, toll, or another ...

I'd agree with everyone else.
You were charged with an offense committed on public roads.
If the owner of the property decides he'd like the officer to move, he's free to make that demand. That's an issue between the property owner and the officer. The evidence collected against you isn't based on the officer forcing entry into an area without ...

Re: If a cop claims that your speed was 84 km/hr in 60 zone
If the disclosure is really only what you received, it's a slam dunk. That being said, those are some of the absolute worst questions.
Why is the colour of your shirt or whether or not you were wearing khakis relevant? It's a speeding ticket. The officer is not required to remember what was on your dash, what color your seats were, or what was ...

Re: Seatbelts in SUV
You can't have more passengers than there are seat belts. Older vehicles made before a time where seat belts were mandatory (1974 I believe) have been grandfathered in. Even then, you can't transport infants or small children. You, the driver, are responsible for anyone under the age of 16 in any vehicle with belts.

It's not uncommon to wait 4-6 weeks. You could probably wait a couple more weeks before sending a second request.

Re: Caught speeding, Officer wrote wrong location
You can request disclosure. The officer would have written down all the relevant information regarding your stop (how he determined your speed, when, where, etc).

Re: Caught speeding, Officer wrote wrong location
Hi guys, I got caught past Woodbine Ave, and officer says I was going over 30 on a 70km/hr. I was not over 30, but maybe over 20-25, but it's his words against mine.
Speeding is an absolute liability offense. You were either speeding or you weren't. There's no in between. "I was speeding, but..." means your trial is already over before it begins ...

80 @ 238.8 = Speed and distance. I'd assume it's in metres.
L2 = Lane 2
S C D = Probably Sunny, Clear, Dry

Re: Ticketed For Parking in a Handicap Spot
Each city is different and you'll have to look up the particular bylaw in that specific city. The city will have it's own regulations about how the signs and the spot is to be labeled. It's not uncommon for a sign to be the only indicator required for a handicap spot. So just because there isn't something on the ground doesn't mean it's not a ...

Updating the address on your license isn't just a good idea, it's mandatory. You are required to update your address within 6 days of the change.

Re: School bus stopping question
When approaching a school bus, I don't believe there's a minimum distance required as long as you remain in front of it. If coming from behind, you're required to stop at least 20 metres behind. That's so the driver can see your vehicle.sam45 wrote:Can I still get charged for this for being too close?
