IMO best route for these tickets is to get a reduced fine. You were caught on camera!

Re: A few questions about highway incidents

You should not stop just because of the legal issues, but to see if the other car driver, passengers, are ok! If you think you were involved in an accident you should stay around, and if you were at fault you could get a ticket for leaving an accident. Failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

A new study suggests alcohol is more harmful than heroin!

A bit off topic here is an interesting article:

http://www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2010/11/drugs_cause_most_harm

"MOST people would agree that some drugs are worse than others: heroin is probably considered to be more dangerous than marijuana, for instance. Because governments formulate criminal and social policies based upon ...

Re: Received first time careless driving ticket...what to do?

Any time an animal crosses in front of you, slow down as much as possible and STAY IN YOUR LANE.

That works if it's a small animal... not so much for a moose, bison, elk, etc.

Thats very true. In the area I live in there are deers that randomly cross streets and you dont want to hit them head on, because they will/can crush your windshield and ...

Its interesting that you used a lawyer instead of a paralegal to help you with this case.

Glad you were not hurt in your accident! It must have been scary!

Re: 180km/h in a 100km/h zone

Well I think in my personal experience, when I get tailgated I do end up speeding up to get the guy off me, its natural instinct.

The dilemna here is that he was going 140 when the police first came behind him, and the police stayed there until he went over 150, possibly causing him to do so.

Not saying he did the right thing by speeding and ...

Re: 180km/h in a 100km/h zone

This sounds like un-fair practices. The police should not be tailgating you.

I once had a similar situtation where on 401 I was going in left most lane 130 km/h when this approaching car behind me just started tailgating me. I did not know it was a cop but once I passed a truck on the right, I indicated and moved to the center lane. The police ...

Re: School Bus lets my kids out at a 4 way stop sign

If you're sitting at the stop sign ready to make your left you can clearly see the red lights flashing and arm out. I'm not sure why you would go ahead and make the left turn. Unless you did not get your DL in Canada perhaps. (shrug)

Thats the problem. The bus should not be so close to the intersection. I can't see the fault of making a left ...

Re: School Bus lets my kids out at a 4 way stop sign

The first picture shows a car making a left turn.

The problem with this picture is not what that car is doing, because every car would do the same thing.

As the car did stop when faced with the bus's stop sign, you can not expect a car from not making a left turn when it is their right of way to do so.

I think there is a fundamental problem of ...

It is a crazy idea to do this ...

I would rather see the government do Public Service Announcements telling people to SLOW THE HELL DOWN in school zones, rather than be desensitized with fake children playing on the road.

There is also a concern in the article about how this will affect drivers abilities to distinguish the differences from real ...

I think they can re-open the case, but they are going to have to explaiin to the jp why they are doing so. And if the reason is due to unpaid paralegal fees, that might not go by easily with the judge.

The court system is not meant to help paralegal's retrieve their money from you.

They can however, simply sell your bill to a collections agency ...

I can't really agree with throwing your butt out the window, but I see people doing it ALL THE TIME!

You are charged with littering and not attempted arson, which is atleast good

Littering is a fine that you should just pay and get over with IMO.

Next time, simply consider an ashtray or cup to keep the butts in.
