Re: Transcibed officer electronic notes

Simply put, if the officer uses his note pad and not the "electronic" notes you have a reason to question the accuracy of what you were given. Also, how much of the lidar manual did you request? If the pages you requested don't cover what you thought, ask for access to the whole thing and take your own notes. If you don't get access, you can argue ...

Re: Different speed limits on both sides of the road

Redrive the route, exact location markings would help, with VIDEO. If the last sign you passed was 80 and no other signs, including the "your are entering XX town" signs then the assumed speed is the last one you passed. If it helps your trial, that would be where this is heading, take pictures instead of video. Set up the pictures at X meter ...

Re: Different speed limits on both sides of the road

Speed limits are to be the same on BOTH sides of the road, in normal<-------- driving conditions. Construction, special events etc. will change things. If you can find a location where the speed sign are offset by a considerable margin, 100's of meters not 10 meters, it is a valid arguement in court that you were not speeding.

Is this the next step of S.172?

Tow the car, why that contributes to global warming, just blow it up.

Go luck driving it again let alone speeding.

Re: got very short disclosure

OK, got it - thanks!! So, just to confirm:
- a full copy of the police officers notes <-- State it just like that
- documentation that police officer can produce (or how to state that properly?) <-- Don't ask before hand, if the officer takes the stand then ask him
- copy or access to a copy of the radar user manual (model #XXXX) <-- Just like ...

Re: ANY Assistance Would Be Appreciated!

If you are certain and can "prove", magic in that word, that you were not the lead vehicle, then you can get it lowered at least. Your arguement is that while you were in a pack of cars, at no time was your car physically attached to the ones around you and any reading taken from the other car was not your speed. Lidar operators are instructed to ...

Request again just for the "cover your a$$" thing and you should be home free. There is supposed to be a test of the radar before and after the ticket time. It's not listed. What all did you ask for in disclosure?

Re: Resulting demerit points will terminate schooling

From here you will have to wait for the disclosure package. However, since you are applying for the course you may have a way out.
1. Wait for your trial date.
2. See if it is after the start of your program.
3. If it is no issues, you have a clean record at the beginning of the course and don't mention it to the school.
4. If the trial date is ...

Re: 77 on 50km/h - Orangeville

No, that is not at issue. Simply tell the JP that you requested parts of the manual and that you believe it will help you make a full defense. If you recieve the disclosure just before the trial ask for more time before you go forth. And point out to the JP that your original request was never fulfilled and that this delay is a result of the ...

Question for court: Officer, did the car you were driving recently have snow tires installed? Yes, was the speedometer calibrated after that? Done.

Re: Interesting - Speed vs Collisions Avoidance

The critical speed is 120km/hr (75mph) where anything over that speed and an evasive manoveur is attempted you WILL lose control.

**edit** This is based on ideal conditions - dry pavement, good tires, good brakes, mechanically checked vehicle + controlled environment **
So, we can raise speed limits to 120......J/K

You could walk into your local donut shop, I mean police station and quietly ask an available officer what you would like to do and where you would like to do it. If the officer beats you about the head and tiraids on about "Back in my day......."..... I would think twice.

Do the current units the OPP use reliably track 2 vehicles and report the speeds from both vehicles
