Best bet is to look for a municipal by-law infraction under Toronto by-law 32-92. See what the Prosecutor offers you.

Re: failure to surrender license
Agree with Stanton.
You are not charged with "Drive with no licence." You are charged with failing to surrender your licence, which, by your own admission, is exactly what you did. You could try to get a lower fine by speaking to the Justice of the Peace at trial, however it won't necessarily be successful.

Re: Concerning Stunt Driving - driver from US
The reciprocity with 40+ states is for non-paid tickets. So if the ticket is not paid, then Ontario will report it. As for getting his physical licence back, I'm not sure what the OPP does for out-of-province motorists who get caught stunt driving. Generally they're few and far between. I'd imagine it would be mailed to the person's home address ...

Re: Where to wait to make a left turn at a intersection.
So some guy in a SUV comes tearing up, and decides to try and cut in front of me (instead of pulling in behind the 3 cars behind me).
BUMPER TAG!!
Okay not really...
Although if it does give you any consolation, I did see someone try that when the vehicle in the right lane was a dark Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows. (GEE... I ...

Impaired drivers they'll go after. If it's just a matter of someone speeding, going through a red light, rolling a stop, turning/changing lanes without signalling etc., in the GTA the police are not likely to respond. It's different in other parts of the province, though.

Re: My next move
I thought by law they had to do a public education period.
They don't. Usually they will post one of those big circular "NEW" signs that warn drivers of a change. As for ticketing, police can use any law that is in effect, no matter how early it is. For example, the first motorist caught under the stunt driving law was pulled over just 1 minute ...

Re: Prosecutor bold faced lied in the court!!
Whether the officer was actually present or not does not matter. The JP was going to adjourn if the trial option was pursued, so they would have received an adjournment regardless. It's still a delay that keeps the "11B clock" ticking. Even if the officer was not there, they still could have requested an adjournment due to the officer not being ...

Re: Where to wait to make a left turn at a intersection.
The worst part of the construction was that they were changing which lanes were closed every other day. And then for a few days there they had only one traffic light for NB Vic Park @ Lawrence, and the wind (or somebody) blew it off to the side, so you couldn't even see what color the lights were (or if the advance green was up). People were ...

As I got on the road, the plowtruck in front of me stopped, so I changed lanes to avoid it.
Just a heads up: If you say that in court, you are toast.

Re: Disobyed Sign 182(2) - Officer gave me wrong ticket
Well that's a major mistake by the officer. It does not "invalidate it" immediately, but delivering the ticket to the wrong defendant should be sufficient to get the charge quashed. Probably the other guy has "your" ticket as well. They have up to 6 months to withdraw the original charge and issue a new one against you, but chances are they won't ...

Re: Tickets for operating viechel without insurance
If you had valid out-of-province insurance, you had valid insurance. Check with ICBC to see if your policy is/was valid, then see if they can send you a letter indicating that you did, in fact, have valid insurance on the date of offence. Present that to the Prosecutor and they should drop the charge. Otherwise, if they don't, ask them to cite a ...

Re: Pass on Right, not in saftey 150(1)
Truthfully, I am not surprised that the guy reported it, after telling you to be on your way and not report. At all. Shaking my head, but not surprised.
You may be able to argue that, based upon the fact that there was no signal, he stopped, and the way was clear, you may argue that the circumstances indicated that you were okay to pass. However ...
