I don't know... if the cop reduced it to 15 km/h on the spot, unless there was (as iFly55 suggests) a definite fatal error on the ticket, I'd just pay it, especially for something that was reduced and not really significant.
I suppose you could get disclosure and see if they include the relevant parts of the radar manual, and the officer's notes ...

Re: Saskatchewan's new traffic penalties...
I work on the enforcement side of things and even I find these seizures troubling. I do not believe a persons vehicle should be seized prior to any finding of guilt. If you are convicted at trial and the Court orders an impoundment, so be it. But until that happens, the property should remain with the defendant. The H.T.A. already provided police ...

Saskatchewan's new traffic penalties...
On June 27, new penalties take effect in Saskatchewan for traffic offences, including driving while impaired, speeding/racing and talking on the cellphone. Here they are:
Use of hand-held electronic device while driving
First offence: Ticket.
Second offence within a year: Immediate, 7-day impoundment of the vehicle at the roadside.
And you ...

Re: Offences/driving in Michigan
Actually, believe it or not, that IS something that the police do in Michigan when they ticket an out-of-state motorist. The only place they have reciprocity with is Ontario. Generally when the Michigan police stop an out-of-state motorist, they can do one of three things:
1. Take the licence to a police station, where you will show up and then ...

You can try to get them to strike out the conviction and have the matter re-opened. The majority of JPs are sympathetic, as long as you are rational and professional about it.

Also just wanted to clarify... was your wife charged with anything?
Has your insurance company determined she was at fault? They will get the police report, (hopefully) take her statement into account as well and make their determination. But, like any other organization private or public, they'll likely take the easy road and just go with what ...

If I were you, I'd try to plead it down to "fail to turn left to avoid collision" or something like that. That seems like your best option here.
The other driver probably had a few screws loose, but it sounds like you should've backed off. The fact that he wasn't charged sucks, but that does happen... next time some bonehead tries that, back way ...

These kind of posts are generally done to increase the position of the poster's Google Search. The search algorithms take into account how many links point back to their website so they just make a neutral comment and include a link back to the site they are promoting. If the moderator just strips the link from their posting, it removes any value ...

Well regardless... I feel that you did a really good job of putting your evidence together. You had photographs, measurements, and other information to prove what you were claiming. You built a rock-solid case on facts and information, and then did a good job in court. You deserved to win.

Worst comes to worst he would bring it to court, you can argue there were no visible damage to his car and he was speeding.

Re: Careless Driving Charge
First of all, you want to get an adjournment of the trial. 2 days is not enough time to adequately prepare a defence. Be polite but firm when asking for the adjournment, and insist that you did not receive the disclosure in a timely manner. The JP might adjourn with no penalty, or might charge it to the Prosecutor... anyway, worth a try. It's ...

Re: Red Light Camera - Stopped then Reversed
The cameras snap two pictures, one showing you crossing the stop line, the other showing you proceeding through the intersection. If you'd basically stopped on the crosswalk, they might let it go, although I wouldn't count on it. The rental car company will get the fine and bill your credit card. If you were to contest this, you'd have to notify ...

Re: Is this grounds for an appeal? (was kicked out of courtr
If you were to appeal, the first issue is that arguing that the "secretary" (actually she's the Clerk) had no right to remove you is incorrect. If you try to appeal, they will obtain the transcripts which will show you were ordered out for not shutting your phone off. "I looked at it for 5 seconds" is not shutting your phone off.

Re: how can i plea to prevent insurance reporting (american)
- when i spoke to the court about requesting trial, they told me there would be a "one letter code" on the ticket that would indicate if the officer had reduced the actual speed from the one initially clocked on radar. this code is nowhere present.
