Re: Should I pay a parking ticket?
For a $60 parking ticket, I'd probably just pay it, unless you're fighting it solely for the "principle" of the thing. The main reason being the inconvenience of having to take 2 days off of work just to fight a parking ticket...

Don't take this as an offence, but you did check that your tail lights were working, right?viper1 wrote:Each time it was at night.

Re: U-Turn?
Well unless the road you turned on to also had a No U-turn sign that I couldn't see... you didn't disobey the U-turn sign. The "NO U-TURN" only applies on the highway it's posted on, not to other roads in the vicinity.

Re: Rear Ended Someone Months Ago (did not report to Insuran
Tell your insurance company the truth as best you can recall. Just answer their questions, and tell them that you didn't file a claim because you didn't have much damage to your vehicle so didn't want it repaired.
They won't make you pay for the other car's repairs yourself. However, they could raise your rates.

Re: Force Fatal Error?
I agree with Daggx and tdottopcop. The wrong vehicle type is likely not going to result in the ticket being quashed. Actually, it won't, because the JP only examines the ticket for known fatal errors (missing date, missing defendant name, offence not known to law, missing/incorrect set fine etc). They only need enough to convict. If they've got a ...

1. Does a violation that is eventually withdrawn by the prosecution (i.e. issuing officer doesn't show etc) stay on the offender's driving record, for any definite period of time (that-is-to-say, the record which a then-prosecutor would see if such offender were to end up back in traffic court weeks/months/years later)?

Re: Speeding Caught on new sign
Given that the speed you'd be convicted of (8 km/h over) is such a meagre offence (really? 8 km/h?! Who tickets for 8 over?!) I'd go to court and see what is in a plea bargain, if nothing else.
Fight the ticket, and put in a disclosure request. The disclosure request will help you get the evidence the Prosecutor intends to use against you. For ...

I realize this is not a forum to discuss driving habits, however I can't believe most wouldn't start noticing people walking out on the road in front of their cars, even that far ahead.
Actually, this IS a forum where driving habits can be discussed (see the "General" section).
Anyway... I'd still recommend choosing option 3. If you choose ...

Re: Charged Based on a Witness Calling OPP
I just wonder if its that easy to call the cops on someone and have them fined, and have to deal with a day in court, if there are any ramifications for the complainant if this gets thrown out.
Unfortunately... yes. As for the complainant, absolutely nothing, in most cases. There might be some rare instances where the police would go back and ...

Re: Careless Driving- Single car, no witness
Yeah I'd get a paralegal or a traffic lawyer involved. This has some pretty significant implications for not only your driving record, but also your insurance. There is a possibility that you could get the charge plea-bargained down to "leave roadway - not in safety," but I still would get professional help on this one.

Well you still could plea bargain to a lower speed, if that's what you're hoping for.

Re: Common Law dictates that everyone has the free right to
I've seen this bullcrap before so I'm going to lock the thread. In fact, when I lived in Michigan, one of the organizations I volunteered for helped track and monitor Freemen/Sovereign Citizens, so I'm quite familiar with their tactics.
Simply put, the nonsensical garbage on the OP is pure fiction and no court in Canada accepts it. Black's Law ...
