Agree with highwaystar.
Just produce proof that you were insured at the time you were pulled over and the main charge is gone.
I don't know of any companies that count "failure to provide proof of insurance" as a minor conviction, but I could be wrong. In any case IIRC it is $65 for that one...

Re: Bicycle/Vehicle Collision in Parking Lot
First of all, if she makes an insurance claim, the insurance company would cover everything above the deductible, unless you were at fault, in which case they'd cover 100% of it (usually). So her story is BS. The insurance company would also cover rentals, etc. So my advice would be to tell her to go through insurance and that you will not be ...

Re: charged with stunt/race 140 in an 80
You might get a licence suspension and a large fine, not sure the length of the suspension. Anyway, I would recommend hiring a paralegal who has experience dealing with this sort of thing. That's your best option at this point. They might find something that can get it reduced to 49 over instead of 60 over, but I can't promise anything. Call around ...

Courts consider speeding to be the greatest sin known to man. The Crown will simply argue you should have increased your following.

You could argue a U-turn... but the problem is a U-turn is a left turn so you're not helping yourself with that one.

Just to be clear, you're saying that you did fully stop, but beyond the stop line, correct?

Re: Trail on July 21, Highway Traffic Act 182(2), NEED HELP
Actually, that is too much. Almost all of the information you requested is either spurious or doesn't exist, so your request(s) will not be honoured. For this offence, the only thing you should request is the officer's notes, and "any other evidence that the Prosecutor intends to introduce during the trial." That's it... unless someone actually ...

I would probably pay the ticket if I were you.
Insurance has to cover your costs in cases like this, unless you did something that would void the insurance (e.g. drove suspended, or something to that effect). So although the judgement is against you, the insurance company will pay it out. However, they will, of course, raise your rates ...

Bilingual defence was (more or less) quashed on appeal.
IIRC, the argument the city made is that while Toronto is a designated area, that applied only to provincial government services and the city never committed to providing fully bilingual service. Therefore, all MTO signs had to be bilingual (which they are) but city signs did not...

The courts have no control over demerit points. If you plead guilty or are convicted, demerit points are automatically assigned by MTO.
If you want to plea-bargain to a lesser charge with fewer or no demerit points, that might help you, but pleading guilty only helps with possibly getting a lesser fine.

Agree with Stanton. The Prosecutor will say you failed to sufficiently adjust your speed for the conditions. All of those calculations are not going to help, because the Prosecutor and JP will ask "why weren't you going slower?" One of the measures that the courts accept and use is that if you are unable to stop for a red light due to speed ...

Answers to your questions:
1. Insurance company. Review your policy on what they will/will not cover. Main thing is to keep talking to them about the situation. (I'm parroting what ynotp said above.)
2. You can start looking right away. If the insurance adjuster has determined that the vehicle is a write-off, you should get a cheque for the ...

Somewhat. But if you have the fax confirmations that should (not necessarily will) be enough.

Re: Was clocked 153 km/h on QEW, cop reduced to 149
If you have an early resolution meeting scheduled with the Prosecutor, you can always say you are interested in pleading guilty but looking for a lower fine. Unfortunately at this stage, you're pretty well committed to going to court, but you can make it quick and painless.
Failing that, I don't think you can't do much on line but you can all the ...
