Also if at all posible could someone show me the part of the HTA that says that?
It's not HTA, it's Criminal Code of Canada, as hwybear says.
Operation while impaired
253. (1) Every one commits an offence who operates a motor vehicle or vessel or operates or assists in the operation of an aircraft or of railway equipment or has the care or ...

Re: radar show 79km in 50km zone but ticket show 80km in 50km
If the ticket says speeding 80 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, and the total payable is $140 (or even the set fine for that matter), then yes, you have a ticket bearing a fatal error. You may be interested in reading this thread:

Pretty much... I had dealer tags on mine (bought the car in Windsor) but removed them. Not that I minded being a "rolling advertisement"hwybear wrote:I was just thinking of this today as I drove to Windsor and was going to dig up this post after coming home. Seemed almost every vehicle has the dealer bracket.

Re: Help with a ticket please!
However I thought there was something in the law about turning left that only one vehicle could be in the intersection at a time.
Some municipalities may have passed by-laws to that effect, but cities like Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Hamilton, etc., aren't on that list.
There's no specific number of vehicles that may enter the intersection ...

Re: Can the HTA be enforced in a mall parking lot
The best thing to do is check out the Ontario Fault Determination Rules.
They are convoluted, weird, and at times completely contradict the HTA. Couple of examples:
- You're in the right lane minding your business. Driver roars up behind you, slices around you, cuts inches in front of your bumper and plows on the brakes. You rear-end him. He ...

Re: admission-of-guilt
Well it depends... you'd have to find out if the officer wrote it down in his notes, and if not, if he remembers it at trial. As for admitting to an offence, R. v. Schlesinger addresses this a bit. The defendant said he was "probably" speeding but did not say he was going as fast as the officer stated. He was found not guilty, but mostly because of ...

Actually, come to think of it, shouldn't it be "Unnecessary Slow Driving, to wit 20 km/h in a 60 km/h zone," to be technically accurate?

Was there another car that sped past you within a minute or two of you getting stopped?
Other than that - neo333 gave you a good foundation. Keep us posted on what you decide to do. If it comes time for a trial, the officer's present and it looks like the evidence against you is pretty solid, you can ...

I'd be curious to know how much of a role regulation, read over-regulation, plays in this scenario.
Ever read the book Traffic by Tom Vanderbilt? He talks a lot about the points you raised, such as getting rid of all kinds of signs. The Netherlands also came up with the idea called woonerven , where instead of having sidewalks, roads, etc., the ...

You are right - I just re-read section 142.1 now.Bookm wrote:I think the bus only has the right-of-way to the first lane though, not all the way to the next lane over (centre-lane).
Also... even if it is leaving a bus bay... the bus cannot move over if it is "impracticable" for other drivers to yield the right-of-way.
