Re: Bloor and St. Pauls SQ 182(2)
Try to plea-bargain to a municipal "disobey sign." It does not need to be a "non-moving violation." At the very bottom of this page there's a link to the Demerit Points table which shows which municipal by-law infractions might carry demerit points. While the municipal by-law infraction does not appear on your driver record, MTO is supposed to ...

Re: Senior Driver's Conditional Licence?
They're restricting seniors from driving on roads that are statistically the safest in the province??
Statistically senior citizens get into collisions mostly at intersections controlled by traffic lights and signs. Maybe the province should look at mandatory re-testing every few years instead of banning them from the 400 ...

Re: TICKETED FOR FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE BY AIRCRAFT
The pilot is not doing the observation. Odot has a spotter in the back of the plane who is watching the traffic and radios to people on the ground. You'd need to get the notes of the officer who was in the plane to see if he saw the vehicle cut you off... as the officer who stopped you indicated.

Re: Ticketed for right turn at yellow light [resolved]
I'd say it's safe to say the officer will show up, mostly because it was the Peel Region Police (I'm assuming) that stopped you. They show up usually 60%-70% of the time. Toronto is more like 50%.
I definitely plan to defend myself in a clear and concise manner, but I don't have any experience in this situation.

Re: Bloor and St. Pauls SQ 182(2)
That's a weird one... if you pay you'd get 2 demerit points plus the possibility of an insurance increase (maybe not because you have an unblemished record).
Another option is setting up a trial and looking for a plea-bargain to a municipal by-law infraction. Most of them do not have demerit points so they won't go on your driving record. It's one ...

Re: Fatal Error on the Ticket
Where is the authority that describes the fatal errors mentioned? Especially the offence not known error.
Basically precedent. Let's say you got a ticket that says you were charged under s. 128 and the act was "Driving Too Fast for Conditions." While we all understand what that means, it is not "known to law." There is no act/section that is ...

Re: Ticketed for right turn at yellow light [resolved]
If your testimony is consistent, in that you turned right on an amber light, and you are not swayed or shaken by the Crown when you get cross-examined, you would have a chance of being found not guilty. Here's a case where the officer said "you ran the red light," but the defendant testified "no, it was amber," - and won:

Re: ???
so asking for disclosure will tell what he wrote?
Yes. After you get your trial date, you (or a paralegal) can file the paperwork for disclosure. What should be included (and you should ask for) are the officer's notes, a copy of the collision report, and any photographic evidence (assuming that they have any).

Re: written ticket you are given by police
No. The location does not have to be pinpoint accurate. Minor spelling errors also won't make it invalid. What would make the ticket invalid is if the location was missing entirely, or did not exist.

Re: Pedestrian deaths spike in GTA
Everyone just left the cyclist there to fix herself up because of her hostility
It's almost remarkable that one of the pedestrians that she almost slammed into did not knock her back to the concrete.
They are insane for the most part - speaking of the courier guys.
Downtown Toronto's "sui-cyclists." :x I've had my own share of close calls ...
