Re: snowmobile owi in michigan
How do they consolidate information from Michigan's files to Ontario's, out of curiosity? IE, when will they find out or when will this conviction be registered on the license of a driver, licensed in a different country?

Re: We're not unfairly complaining about congestion
For starters, cars are a lot more fuel efficient than they were when the limits were originally placed. You wouldn't even feel a difference in fuel economy between 100 and 120 .
In my experience, this couldn't be more untrue. My average was 120km/h. My average now is 100 km/h, and I never hit empty before 415km (average is about 415-420km but I ...

Re: We're not unfairly complaining about congestion
It isn't more fuel efficient or environmentally friendly, that's for sure. I know this because when I began to travel extensively on the hwys in Southern Ontario, the gas prices skyrocketed and I was over a barrel because of the cost of gas.
I was also travelling mostly in the left lane, or moving to the middle when someone faster wanted to pass ...

Re: Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!
I agree. We are almost as litigious as the U.S. here in Ontario, but we too have limits to what we are awarded, whereas in the U.S., only common law precedent is the limit and that can be easily broken.

Re: Help with Right of Way argument....
What i'm looking for, is, if car "B" has complied with subsection (1) and has been waiting (not approaching) the intersection as well as Car A for the north/south traffic to clear, would this still give Car A right of way?
Yes it would.
1. Please clarify - So long as Car A was still the first to comply with Subsection (1);
-or-
If Car B ...

Re: Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!
Yes, we do have a thriving AB milking business, which may or may not be what I was victim to yesterday, since it couldn't have been timed better. But, that said, the increases in premiums continue as to PROFITS for the company. If this is to be a legislatively mandated system, forcing citizens to partake in the raping of their bank accounts, WHY ...

Re: A loud exhaust message from Harley Davidson
Hopefully there is an awareness campaign because I have two hog-owners in my neighbourhood. One a bit down the street who is a full-fledged 1%er, and another who is behind our house and to our right, almost directly behind our bedroom window. The 1%er blares his music and comes home in the middle of the night or early morning (1-4am), waking us up ...

Re: Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!
Yes, it will, but I have to be honest, I think it's a racket. I think it is so unjust when we are forced by law to deal with these insurance companies who, in all honesty, rip us off. Try fighting them or appealing a decision regarding injuries.

Re: "Collision" with a Cyclist Yesterday
I have all of his information on the collision report. He was excellent. Not because he was of the opinion that no charges should be made, but because he really calmed me down. The first thing I thought when I saw the bmx bike and the small stature of the man (he was really short, mentally "delayed" let's just say, dark buzz-cut hair, and a REALLY ...

Re: Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!
Yes, I second that request for a cease and desist posting about that Maritime Law nonsense.
Also, I witnessed a woman get her second No Insurance charge and despite the fact that she WAS poor (it was evident) the justice imposed a $5k fine, and if it took years to pay it off, that was fine with him. He gave leniency to her regarding payment plans ...

"Collision" with a Cyclist Yesterday
I questioned whether or not it was a full moon, and it was (I saw it this morning). I got into a "collision" with a cyclist yesterday. I wasn't charged because he didn't see me, and I didn't see him until just before the moment he went into me , screamed at me "watch where you're going!", I called the police and ambulance, and I received no charges ...

Re: Top Ten EASY Ways to Dodge a Ticket!
I am a paralegal by trade (real estate) and finishing up my licensing process for advocacy. Additionally, I have ticket I am fighting and have been spending time observing court to get an idea on arguments, decorum, etc. because I am defending myself AND I wish to work in prosecution (thus the court hours, for experience).

I've seen the aftermarket "too loud" muffler charge beaten in court no less than 4 times within the last year because of issues relating to officer discretion and no measurement of decibel.

I went to Buffalo with a friend of mine years ago as he went to pick up his detector detector from a Buffalo UPS (couldn't get it shipped here).
