Re: Legal requirement to report accident to Insurer?
Rates will not be affected if you are hit from behind as well, which is 0% responsibility according to insurance accident rules.
I'm just completing a FSCO course right now, and some of the fault rules are infuriating, including this one, because even if idiot driver #1 pulls in front of you in some road rage battle and slams on his breaks and you ...

Re: Rules to over take street car?
This was a common problem on Lakeshore Blvd West from Kipling all the way to Parklawn. You never knew when the driver would stop because of traffic, or stop because it was "close enough" to the stop. It seemed as though the streetcar drivers would not consider that drivers cannot anticipate them letting off passengers in live lanes AWAY from the ...

Re: Top 10 driver pet peeves (Toronto Police survey)
 Left Lane Bandits. I love it!
How about those who speed to get in front of you when you are the last car in the long line of moving vehicles, only to slam on the breaks because they were going faster than your lane and are about to brownnose the car ahead?
Or those idiots who, seeing your signal to enter their lane, speed UP in order to ...

Re: Halton Police's "Radar Taxi"
Hwy, I do not doubt for a second that you see these things more when you are in unmarked cars, and I know you see knuckle-headed drivers pull their dangerous stunts when you are in your own car. I drive 109km a day just to get to work and back, not including other driving I need to do, and I see morons everywhere, all the time. I need a 6th sense ...

Re: Halton Police's "Radar Taxi"
I think having as much police presence on the road as we can afford is a good thing. However, marking a cruiser to look like a cab is underhanded and done only to generate revenue for the region it's in.
A positive outcome of police presence on the road is the deterence of bad drivers from making bad mistakes that could hurt someone and I don't ...

Re: Second judge... 172 Unconstitutional
It is still unconstitutional to imprison someone without a trial. Take that out and this law may stand.
But, if it's unconstitutional to imprison someone without a trial, why are people imprisoned and denied bail prior to their trial? I was at court this week and witnessed a case where the accused were arrested and held since April '08. The ...

Re: Second judge... 172 Unconstitutional
If the courts are finding it unconstitutional, on what basis are they continuing to charge under that law? It's a waste of taxpayer dollars, and I think that their attitude shows blatant disrespect toward the Charter. They are daring the justice system to take it to the Supreme Court to strike down 172 before they are forced to rescind on their ...

Re: Keeping Quiet (" Complete Silence") : Police Traff
There are compelling reasons why the vehicle would raise suspicion, but can someone please tell me if there is a record of when a licence # has been pulled over? If so, then surely the office next pulling over the vehicle knows this when they punch in the licence #?

Re: Define Abussive and Uncooperative
Thats not what bothers me. If i do not consent to a search, why is it said in court that i am being uncooperative? If i say in a stop: "get your hands out of my truck, dont touch my stuff or ill have you charged with theft", why is it said that i am being abusive? Funny how that gets twisted heh. I make those remarks, just that, no insults or ...

Re: Define Abussive and Uncooperative
Like Bookm, I would never consent to a search of my vehicle. However, I would be extremely professional about it, asking the officer what his/her reasonable cause is to feel a search of my vehicle is necessary, but still refuse to consent. I am not of the "type" who would be targetted or arise suspicion as I'm just another Jane Public going about ...
