Re: Stopping distances

Stopping Distances for Cars

Stopping Distance = Thinking Time + Braking Distance

For example: typical braking distance while travelling at 30 miles per hour (48km/hr)
Thinking Distance = 9m
Braking Distance = 14m
Stopping Distance = 9 + 14 = 23m
Which is about the same length as 6 cars!

The table shows typical stopping distances included in ...

Re: Wrong Name on Court Date Letter

If they have your proper driver's licence number you've now created yourself a real headache...Yes, you should have gone, now if by virtue of your DL# you become a suspended driver, you can have your car towed and spend countless hours re-opening this case to get the conviction off your record...

Your decision to ignore the court summons was ...

Re: A doctors prescription

Well, yeah, it does seem paranoid to be doing this considering such tiny numbers of potential officers involved. However and I am just immagining this, I think the damage just might be a little larger than these numbers would suggest. I was just wondering, at the precinct, do you have those officers who tend to brag about giving out large amounts ...

Re: Court of Appeal sets things right on traffic offences

I'd dare you to find one of those instances...strangely enough from time to time police use common sense...

Insofar as going to get something from your vehicle, well there aren't too many cars available these days without keyless entry...

But you do raise interesting points.

Jeez the law is complicated!

Re: Attaching case laws in Form 4F appendix

Our prosecutor sees these big files as a game...now it's a challenge...

You come to court to snow ball, he'll not withdraw...they aren't prepared to be outmanoeuvred but some tree slaughtering wannabe (his words not mine) LOL!!

Different prosecutors approach it differently...

Re: serious defence for serial ticketers.

Yeah but you are talking about 0.05% of the time...that's a little paranoid by any standard don't you think?

Again, these police officers who create offences are one in 27,000 in Ontario, people have a 100X greater chance of being involved in a collision and we still see tons of people not wearing seatbelts...

Re: Following too close due to deer in lane-court May 4 2010

Once again, if you hit the vehicle in front you, you didn't have time to stop...if you didn't have time to stop, where you not following to closely to stop / avoid collision...

Had you been farther back would you have avoided the collision...
